“Construction was completed in 1936 and this building is a classic. Even if you don't have anything to mail, it's worth stopping in to check out the five murals inside by American artist Ernest Peixotto, including George Washington's visit to Oyster Bay and Theodore Roosevelt at Sagamore Hill. However, the building was closed and locked when I arrived well after regular business hours. There are mailboxes outside on the curb which were useful for dropping off post cards. The post office was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. [Review 15331 overall, 833 of 2021, number 216 in New York.]”
“The workers at this post office are very nice people and they always try their best, however I run a local business and depend on my mail in a timely fashion per the app. When I lived in Seaford, the app was 99.9% accurate and my checks always came. At North Bellmore, they are always understaffed and worse on holiday weeks. There needs to be better staffing by management, so PO Box owners can get mail in a timely fashion. This is an organization that should be more on top of things. The public depends on this. When the economy is tight like now, timeliness matters more. I’d love to see mail put in the boxes quicker so we don’t have to wait days extra. If the app was 99.9% on time in Seaford that SHOULD translate to all towns locally.”

“Great location and service. It's a plus since the wait times are not long at all in this location since it's not as populated. If you're in a hurry to mail something out and you're in the area, I'd suggest checking this location out. They only allow one person inside the actual office at a time because of COVID and since it's on the smaller side.”

With the highly aggressive competition from private firms with huge corporate funds, we appreciate that a taxpayer funded government institution is subject to budget cuts, and often local Post Offices are not given the manpower they require to keep up with the demand on their staff. “I honestly don't understand why the reviews are so negative from other people. Coming from Brooklyn, this post office is a blessing in comparison to what I've dealt with in the past. There is usually never any rush so I'm in and out and there is also a parking lot as well. I've only dealt with two staff members who seem to be there regularly and they are both extremely helpful and kind. I've been mailing out everything from here the past few months and don't plan to stop in the foreseeable future. Keep up the great work!”
“I always find the service at this location excellent. The people working here are friendly, informative, and work quickly to keep the line moving. Even when I arrive to a long line, I never have to wait very long, and the representatives working the counter are always professional and courteous, even when very busy.”

An hour after I called, the missing package magically appeared. . .Thanks to their efforts. This is without a doubt a 5 Star Post Office!”

“I’ve only been to the Glen Head post office twice, but both times have been such a joy thanks to Kareena. She is cheerful, helpful, and has a wonderfully talkative attitude that truly brightens my day. She manages to take the “chore” out of running an errand and turns it into a genuinely pleasant experience.
I live several towns over, but from now on, I will make the trip to this specific post office simply because of Kareena. She’s such an asset—not just to the Glen Head post office, but to every customer she interacts with. Highly recommend coming here if you want excellent service with a smile!”
“Small Post Office and Understaffed it seems every time I go there. Which is fine...its OK. There is always an older women there with short hair. Positive attitude and pleasant no matter how ignorant, arrogant and/or inpatient people are. SHE IS THE MVP!Also I have had issues with packages in the past not getting there when they should as of lately (understandable consdering the times) and tacking information not being updated on the website. I call the store with tracking info and they go above and beyond calling plants to find out where the package is and calling me back with updates!Staff at this store A++++ lucky to call them my local/home PO.”

I appreciate that the dropbox is always working, there are a lot of usps places that have it fill up and get locked, then you have to go on line. I did go on line once or twice for mailing things and the employees were always helpful and courteous.”

“I think you'd probably have a good experience at any post office outside of Brooklyn. That being said this was my second or third time at a post office in LI. I had a great experience at this (Carle Place) post office yesterday. The postal worker was very polite and patient as she handled all the mail I had to send out. The office is very clean and inviting (again, if you've been at post offices in Brooklyn you definitely can make the comparison). I came in the early afternoon on a weekday and found a lot of street parking.”
