The great thing about this store is that they hire a lot of retired contractors who know what they are talking about, understand your home improvement needs, and what the best tools and materials for your job are. And, they are quick! You can spend your day off working on your projects instead of hunting and pecking through chaotic shelves or dealing with clueless salespeople.

I've noticed a perceptible change at Home Depot Hawthorne NY - Associates are approaching me offering to help me. Before for many years, I couldn't find someone to help me. Don't get me wrong they are still short handed. The other change I noticed was in the garden center. The variety of seasonal potted flowers and shrubs are amazing and the best part is they are being watered and are healthy I just bought a new Maytag Washer- the salesperson was knowledgeable, efficient and answered all my questions. The price was competitive and the delivery, setup and take-away handled by a third party logistical truck vendor was flawless and on time as promised.

Not recommended for paint matching. New machine and possible employee ability results in many inaccurate matches. Have used in past before changing to new approach. Recently lost time and money due to this Home Depot.

AVOID online order pick up at this store due to false shoplifting accusation harassment I went to this store very often for shopping in-store and online order pick up. Every year, I bought thousands of dollars of tools and materials from the store. Yesterday when I walked by the holiday tool promotions section. A policeman came up to me asking if an image taken by the surveillance camera is me and the security guy Jim in the store came up saying he saw me multiple times stealing tools from the store and he tried to stop me every time but I never stopped. Totally ridiculous for something never happened! I went to their back-office escorted by the policeman. After I showed them the receipt for the item I had in my hand which was an online order picked up at the customer service on the day the image was taken (luckily I got my cellphone fully charged), together with a long history of hundreds of orders I purchased online. Jim obviously realized he got the wrong guy but still quibbled he had the evidence but just can't find it now. They ended up having to let me go. I only simply requested an apology from Jim and he refused, arguing he was just doing his job. I understood his duty of thief prevention of this store. But his duty should be running after the right thief, not arbitrarily harassing a long-term loyal customer shopping at the store for years. In common sense, a man needs to apologize for the mistake he made. Simple enough for me. He was probably trying to do his job but just did it wrong. To my surprise, the police officer backed him up saying Jim didn't have to apologize, and even telling me Jim didn't even need to tell me his full name. They even threatened me with an attitude like I had been stealing from the store and luckily enough to get away without being arrested due to lack of evidence this time. Because they checked my ID, they will come to my door when they had the evidence. I went up to the manager of the store who also refused to apologize and didn't identify herself as well. She encouraged me to reach out to their headquarter which I will definitely do to get the apology I deserved. The reason I left this review is to remind people to avoid online order pick up at the store. Based on my own experience, anyone who caught on the surveillance camera with an item in hand could be suspected of shoplifting and going on an unpleasant journey to Jim's back-office escorted by the police. It was such a terrible humiliation in public with everyone shopping in the store on watch, thinking a thief was just caught. I know due to COVID, the retail stores have been suffering the worsening shoplifting issue. Although I don't have the intelligence to provide them any help on that, I at least know chasing after a long-term loyal customer is not the optimal solution. In addition, it is not a good practice by refusing to apologize for their mistakes. I will still shop at the store with curbside pick up only that the item is going to be brought out of the door by one of their own employee who hopefully would be less likely to be the next victim of such harassment.

Don't believe what any of the Home Depot Installation sales reps tell you about their windows/doors "Double Lifetime Warranty." It's simply not true. Labor is not covered beyond 1 year! Look at their contract verbiage below. When I inquired about the discrepancy, this was my reply: "My understanding is the line references our lowest warranty that was available on an American Craftsman window which is 1 year and the others would in essence be an upgrade to it. I can assure you having been with Home Depot in the window installations business for over 8 years now they consistently favor on the side of taking care of the customer including any service concerns and issues." It's b******* because the salespeople will be long gone by the time you file a claim. It's what's in the contract that you sign that matters in the eyes of the law; not a marketing brochure or something said in an email. Plygem/Simonton's customer service rep, Mikka, told me that they get lots of complaints from unhappy customers when Home Depot does not honor the warranty. Moreover, they told me HD's (underpaid) subcontractor installers make a lot of mistakes. All confirmed by Simonton's supervisor, Lori Hendershot. The 6500 series window itself is warranted for 20 years and prorated afterwards. This is taken from their contract. Workmanship is only for 1 year! 7. WARRANTY AND LIMITATION ON WARRANTIES: (a) Warranty: Unless otherwise stated in the Agreement, Home Depot warrants for 1 year from the completion date that all Services shall (i) be performed with good workmanship and (ii) conform to the requirements of the Agreement. During the warranty period and within a reasonable time after receiving notice from You of a warranty claim, Home Depot may, at its sole option (i) correct or replace each Defect, or (ii) remove each Defect and refund the full purchase price thereof to You; provided, however, that all warranties are voided if (1) anyone other than Home Depot or Service Provider performs work upon or otherwise modifies any materials or Services provided under this Agreement, or (2) You fail to pay Home Depot as provided in this Agreement. (b) Limitation on Warranties: THE WARRANTIES PROVIDED IN THIS AGREEMENT ARE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE FOREGOING EXPRESS WARRANTIES CONTAINED IN PARAGRAPH 7A, IN THE WARRANTY SECTION OF THE AGREEMENT, IF ANY, OR IN THE STATE SUPPLEMENT, IF ANY. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT NO OTHER WARRANTIES ARE MADE OR GIVEN BY HOME DEPOT OR SERVICE PROVIDER, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY FOR FITNESS OF PURPOSE, WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR ANY OTHER ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES. HOME DEPOT'S EXPRESS WARRANTIES ARE VOIDED FOR ANY DEFECT CAUSED BY ABUSE, MISUSE, NEGLECT, ACTS OF GOD, LACK OF PRESCRIBED OR STANDARD MAINTENANCE, OR IMPROPER CARE/CLEANING. ANY MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES PROVIDED FOR GOODS, MATERIALS, OR EQUIPMENT WILL BE PASSED THROUGH BY HOME DEPOT TO YOU, AND YOU AGREE TO LOOK SOLELY TO SUCH MANUFACTURER FOR REMEDY OF ANY DEFECT IN SUCH GOODS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT. HOME DEPOT MAY ASSIST YOU WITH WARRANTY CLAIMS AGAINST MANUFACTURERS.

Box store locations aren't all the same, you have a similar feel to them, but the lay out is different at some. This location has been around for awhile now and has proven to be a memorable one. Staff here usually are available and generally friendly vs some other locations from my experience. Able to actually see people here and ask for help way easier than one would think usually, not always so can't say perfect but very good. What's good here? Clean, easy to navigate around this store, usually has what I need for lawn and garden, pest control. Lumber section, plumbing tend to be well stocked enough. Masonry supplies good also. Lighting department is ok too. Appliances here smaller selection than some other locales but has the essentials. Deduction of one star: HVAC air filter selection and inventory has been spotty for years at this location, usually end up having to drive further to Jericho which tends to manage this inventory control better. Overall way better than most of the other locations so been living with this. Fix this I probably don't need to visit Jericho as frequently just for Air Filters.

Today I went to Home Depot Syosset after being turn out from the home depot at Jericho, in regards to my law mower I bought at that location and had paid out pocked to repair there on 12/12/2020. I was told after 3 months I had to pay if needed fixing and the person that repairs tools there was out indefinitely due to COVID.I ended up in Soysset where a pleasant young lady, I believe her name was Emily, listened and addressed my issues right away. She was more than helpful, she was God's sent. She addressed the problem I had and got my lawn motor to work again while I was shopping for other things I needed. As a company you should be proud to have people like her working for you. She is definitely and asset to that store. People like her make the difference in this world.

I tried to return a box of Ecosmart high hat interior light bulbs because they were one size too big. In the past Home Depot would simply give you a store credit but now they want proof of a receipt. I brought the box back to the car and went back inside looking for the smaller size. There were none in stock!! What a frustrating waste of time!!!

Terrible phone customer experience. I called twice on a Saturday morning around 9 am (they open at 6) and was greeted by the system that asked what I was calling about but didn't even understand simple answers such as "representative" and "I have a question" after I repeated myself three times. Then it was transferred and kept ringing for a long time and nobody picked up. I called again half an hour later and the same thing. Really, Home Depot, you can do better with setting up your customer phone experience, many other companies do a much better job for callers!

Had to buy a big 10000 BTU GE AC in here today. That went fine, except nobody in this store will help you carry anything or haul to your car. No matter what. I asked a salesperson about this before I checkedthe AC out at register, and he was just like, "well here's a big palletcart and you can lug it out yourself." This was not really what I wasasking about, and I don't mind tipping people, but whatever, I paidfor the AC, and wheeled the pallet flatbed out to my car. I'm reasonablyable-bodied, but I have a bad back sometimes. If I'd gottenanything heavier, I would have required assistance, butthe sales staff here don't seem to be up for that. The salespersonwas helpful otherwise, and the register staff were also, but otherwise, this store needs some better customer service training, and I"m not the only person to have complained about this either. Then again, that seems to be the case at most Home Depots. The store itself, I love, as far as getting the stuff I need, and getting projects done, and self-checkout is usually trouble-free. Years ago I used to work stock sometimes at Crazy Eddie's, the electronics and audio store, and I actually would help bring heavy stuff out to people's cars and trucks, and they would actually sometimes even tip me! Wacky howthat works. But that era of total customer service, I guess, is long, long gone. America needs to get back to that level, becausethat's another reason why the rest of the world laughs at us nowadays.

Was here this evening and these two men were so obnoxious. Their was 6 or 7 people waiting at the outdoor nursery and these men continued using the forklift for 10 minutes. Then we got to where we need and they didn't have the mulch we wanted. Waited for these guys for another 5 minutes and they didn't even say anything.
