I placed a carpet order through Home Depot totaling $9,713.96. The installation was completed last week by a subcontractor named American Carpets (Google rating: 2.3 stars, Binghamton, New York). I also left a negative review for the Syracuse location, as the installers were actually from that store—part of the same chain from the company name ACS commercial & Residential Flooring Specialists.
Shockingly, just one day after the installation, I noticed several visible and unsightly seams throughout the carpeted areas.
I immediately contacted both Home Depot and the installer, providing photographic evidence of the issue. Despite this, no inspection was scheduled, and no corrective action was offered.
I followed up with multiple phone calls and emails, but the issue was repeatedly dismissed. I was told the seams were “normal.” The store manager said she couldn’t assist and referred me to a flooring associate. After two days, I finally reached that associate—only to be told the matter needed to be handled by someone else. (Ironically, that was the same person I had originally emailed.)
Meanwhile, the installation company’s manager, William B., told me to vacuum the carpet and wait 60–90 days before they would even consider sending someone out to inspect it.
All I’m asking for is for a crew to come and fix the issue as soon as possible. I don’t understand why this has to be so difficult.
I’ve attached photos so others can judge for themselves whether these seams look “normal.” Because of the light color of the carpet, the seams are far more noticeable in person than they appear in the images. The pictures were taken without lights on and from a distance, which downplays how bad the problem actually looks.
My main concern is the master bedroom, where a long seam runs across the entire room. I could tolerate small imperfections in other areas and even the obvious footprints, but the seam in the master bedroom is simply not acceptable.
From what I’ve researched and based on industry standards, these kinds of seam issues are typically the result of poor installation—not something customers should be expected to live with

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! ACS was contracted through Home Depot to install my flooring and new baseboards. The baseboard installer showed up drunk and decided to cut all of his product in the AC of my living room because it was hot outside. He then blew dust all over my home entertainment center. TVs, PS5's, surround sound, and laptops all covered in dust. Complained to other installers from ACS that said product should never be cut inside a home like that. Now they are refusing to have my electronics cleaned, and have offered less than half the cleaning cost as their final offer. It may take legal action to finally get compensated.Also their work quality was terrible. Attached are pictures of the baseboards that were installed. Damaged trim, huge gaps, and pieces cut crooked.

I never leave reviews but this company really did a great job. The carpet looks awesome. The installers were kind and efficient and even went above and beyond for us. I would definitely recommend this company. Two thumbs up

Had our carpeting replaced a few months ago. The workmanship was impeccable & the installers were punctual, professional & friendly. They even installed the transition strip for me that I had already bought to go along the seam where our DIY wood floor met the carpeting.

The communication was excellent. We knew exactly when our carpet was due to come in and when the installation day would be with a reasonable time frame for installation. The installers were very professional, friendly, and did a great job! They cleaned up well and had it all done so quickly. I highly recommend.

Awesome experience. We just had a new carpet installed in our living room and we're thrilled with our experience! Every phone call was from a friendly and professional individual. The on-site install team was prompt, efficient and courteous. The work was top notch — we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Definitely recommend.

I have had ACS install carpeting twice in the last few months and could not be more pleased with the experience.First, soon following the initial e-mail confirmation and included information, the ACS representative kept me totally informed as to when they received the carpet, the day scheduled for the install and what that I should expect on that day.Next, I was lucky enough to have the same crew for both installations. They were very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Their workmanship is outstanding and top notch. From introductions to final inspection these guys are friendly, conscientious and hard working.These ACS guys know what they are doing and I highly recommend them.

This was a good experience. They called when they said they would and arrived promptly. When they came in, they were nice and did the job fast and it was well done. Cleaned up before they left. I would use again.
