This unfortunately was one of the worst experiences that Ive had renting a Vehicle. As soon as I picked up the car it had a smell of Marijuana. I reported it to the agent- who was so helpful. Unfortunately she stated she had no other vehicles. I spent the week apologizing to everyone in the vehicle about the smell. I also spent 40 minutes trying to open a gas door that appeared malfunctioning.When I finally returned the car, the agent (different one), could not have been more indifferent to the problem. When I returned with the car fully fueled the agent barely looked up or addressed anything.I mentioned that if I had returned the car with a smell, I would have been charged 425.00. By the time Wednesday came, out of desperation I ran my own air cleaner in the car to try to help the smell.Your social media team offered a $100 dollar discount off of this rental. I was surprised that no one from this location or your nearby airport location even made an attempt to contact us to even offer a switch on the vehicle.In the meantime, I spent the week driving colleagues around and dropping off my child at school with a car that smelled like Marijuana. With no other recourse as I didnt have any time or inclination to want to engage with the office again. I half contemplated putting a stop to the payment for the entire amount of the rental.Not only was this a failure on the location unfortunately, It was a failure of your organization to perform any sort of follow through on something that was verified as a problem from the outset.

The cars are always in top shape, and I always get recognized for being a president club member. But the reason I gave a 10 is because the exceptional people who work at this location. Always treating me like a VIP, always friendly, professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. It’s Christmas and I think you should give them all a raise! Seriously thank you so much for always making me feel important and valued by Avis. This place is a stand out location!

Horrible experience with this store and Avis customer service. The location was closed when we arrived at our reservation time and the employee inside made a shooing motion and wouldn’t open the door to answer our questions. We had a reservation via the Avis website for 1pm on Labor Day with no notification that they were closing at 1. It would have been fine if the store had called to let us know or asked us to arrive earlier. When I called customer service they only offered a car at the airport for $100 more than the original booking.

Both women that I encountered were great. Monday (9/25), Katrice (I’m not entirely sure if this is the correct spelling) was pleasant and quickly got me on my way. She was faced with customers that were less than pleasant in front of me in line and I was a bit nervous it would taint my experience but Katrice did an amazing job at not letting the interaction ruin her morning. She wished me safe travels on my adventure to see the Jonas Brothers later that night! Katrice also informed me that I would be given a SUV rather than an economy class, which ended up being a good upgrade! Driving an SUV to Pittsburgh was a lot more comfortable! Upon returning my vehicle this morning (9/27), the owner was behind the desk. She was also extremely personable and made my experience just as great. I wish I caught her name. We exchanged conversation for a few minutes and I was on my way. Pick up and return were smooth and I would recommend this location again. Car was spotless and without damage versus when I’ve picked up vehicles from the airport location…. (Less than a month ago was given one that was clearly in a car accident). 100000% would choose the Genesee Avis location again!

Absolutely terrible. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They charged me almost TRIPLE what they said the total charges were. Customer service and billing kept sending me back and forth, refusing to help, even hung up on me. The in-person woman at the Syracuse location messed up on her part and somehow I had to pay the price for her mistake. 10/10 do NOT recommend!!!

I wish i could give them 100 stars. After3 year basically everyday customer with Enterprise Oswego i was shown terrible customer service after they triple charged my cards got my cards locked by security at capital one ,then demanded the car back. Still charging my cards 2 weeks later and accusing me of damaging the car… NO LOYALTY TO THEIR CUSTOMERS !I will admit i was nervous but what a nice experience. From the minute i walked in the door the employee was sweet funny and helpful.Already have another reservation booked

Staff is not very helpful. I was charged almost double by Avis what my contract and reservation with Priceline initially indicated. Customer service over the phone was helpful and refunded that. But the on-site staff were not.

I moved to Syracuse yesterday to start a 3 month travel contract today. I was initially frustrated because I didn’t realize that this location had short Sunday hours (kinda my fault but plane was late and Uber was busy!). I rented with Chris at the airport and then switched cars to get a lower rate with Jasmine/Jazmine at this location. She was patient, kind and helpful even though it was busy. She exudes warmth and generally wants to be a great employee/customer service person. She had a stressful situation that morning and still had a smile on her face! I had a great experience there and am happy with my summer car rental :). I hope you have a good experience too!

Personnel were great, company sucks.. avis said in two different emails that a Toyota camry or equivalent would be ready for me for a cross country trip. I arrive and only vehicle available is a pickup truck or Pacifica van. Trip cost a lot more due to the poorer gas mileage. Every thing else was fine.

When we arrived at 1230AM, our car had been cancelled even though I called to let them know our plane was delayed. The gentleman was very nice and let me know my 4 wheel drive Tahoe was still available. I finished the paperwork which had all the correct info and was given the keys. I went to the parking lot to realize I was given the wrong keys, and so I went back inside to let them know I had the keys to a pick up truck. The counter was closed and I had no choice but to leave with the incorrect vehicle. I went back in the morning and they said this happens all the time, and they handed me new keys. This time given keys to a jeep. I noticed the mistake and they found the right keys.When I got the correct keys finally, the Tahoe had under a quarter tank of gas but by this time I had enough and left. With it being 10 degrees outside, I quickly realized the heat wasn’t working. My father looked at the vehicle two days later and realized it had zero antifreeze in it. We filled it and the heat began to work.The entire experience was awful and I had previously enjoyed my experiences with Avis. I also believe I was charged for gas, even though there was none in the Tahoe when I got it.

We were told we would have to pay an additional cleaning fee if we had dogs in the car. So, we didn't have dogs on the car. When we returned the car, the woman said there were dog hairs on the car mats and charged us $250 cleaning fee. It's unfair to charge this fee because dog hair got transferred from our clothing and shoes to the car. BEWARE! If you have pets, they are going to charge you a fee!!
