I feel I do not need to make a strong case on why no one should come to this store, as previous reviews speak for themselves.
The last time I was there, the owner was extremely rude to me. They had stopped buying at 1, but their website - not the corporate one, but the one with the Syracuse store address - indicated something different. I tried to express this calmly, so that maybe they could fix it and avoid having other people waste their time, but she just wouldn't let me talk. This was utterly disrespectful (in general, but also considering I was a customer). Do they think that because people sell their clothes (perhaps in need, not my case), they do not deserve respect?
I am never coming again, and I am sharing this information with everyone I know in the area. The owner should not be in a business where there is interaction with humans who deserve respectful treatment.

I have shopped here a few times mainly for handbags. They have a nice selection of designer bags. Today I shopped for both clothing and handbags. Suzanne was amazing. While I was trying on clothes she brought me other items she thought I would like based off what I already shopped for. It was like having a personal stylist and I loved every minute! I will be back soon.

I would prefer to give a ‘no star’. The intake receptionist was rude and abrupt. I brought in about 45 items and she offered me $2 for one item. They are picky and want items to be brought in impeccable condition. Two items had never been worn!! I would say do not go there to sell items.
I am responding to reply from the owner. I do not agree that they didn’t buy my items because their ‘standards are high’. I saw several items on display that were in worse condition (and looked outdated). Perhaps, they have a bias against plus size clothes/people.

My review is very specific- I have only shopped here for purses, totes and wallets but have been successful every time. I walk in, tell whomever greets me what I’m looking for and am immediately presented with 3-4 options. We talk it over, weigh the pros and cons of each and I make a decision. Actually the last 2 times I was there I couldn’t decide so I bought all 3. The staff know their inventory well, listen to customer needs and offer thoughtful suggestions. Time being valuable, I appreciate that I’m in and out usually in about 15 minutes AND with an armful of name brand items for a fraction of the cost of one.

Terrible selection, mostly out of date, old-lady clothes and staff was rude. Will **never** be back.

Great selection of clothing and reasonable pricing but today I encountered a very condescending and insulting salesperson! I usually have good experiences at this store but this employee as so out of line. I should have asked for a manager, and but instead told the employee that I was not interested in her inappropriate statements and left. She definitely needs customer service training!

abysmal selling experience, came in with a large bag of clothes and they only took one shirt, which they gave me a measly $2 for, which was honestly offensive because it was actually a pretty nice shirt. What on earth can anyone buy for $2?? I honestly should've taken the shirt back since I would've had better luck selling it on Depop. Didn't get an explanation for the majority of the clothes I came in with, which is interesting because upon looking at the clothes they sell, many of my items would have fit right in. Don't even waste your time! I wasted over an hour of my day on this!

I wasn’t going to write a review but I thought about it for a few days and I should share my bad experience so maybe someone won’t go through the nightmare of selling clothes here. This was my first and only time selling at clothes mentor. Maybe ok for purchasing clothes for yourself but I would not recommend selling clothes here. Would not recommend this place AT ALL, would way rather spend the time selling clothes on Poshmark or DePop if you have anything of value. Here, you will get $2-$3 per item. I sold 13 items, all name brand and about 8 things with tags and I received $30. Whatever, I guess fine with that for these clothes to be taken off my hands. The thing that rubbed me the wrong way and made me extremely uncomfortable was when the employee came up to me and said.. “you have some items that we can’t take but if you’re going to donate them there’s some I would love for myself. You have really nice things.” What??? I’m trying to get money for my clothes, and she wanted one of my items with tags for herself. So they won’t buy my clothes but the staff wants it for themselves? As a donation? I should’ve asked her to give me $15 herself, or send her the link to my Poshmark. Because I was so uncomfortable, slightly shocked and taken back, I said yes. And she came up to me while I was looking around the store, before they gave me the total for my items. Very shady in my opinion. I can’t help but think that they intentionally didn’t take my items so the staff member could have these things as “donations”. So between what the store bought for borderline pennies and what the employee took for herself for free; 20 items for $30. Even if you’re desperate for cash, in my opinion this place isn’t worth it. I would rather give my clothes to a friend or a local buy nothing page then feel like I’m being scammed. These girls probably get so many nice clothes as “donations” from customers looking to make money off their “wonderful items” (per the staff). Sad, disappointed, feel like I was ripped off lol won’t be back. Girlys who work there: I recommend not doing that again to customers because it’s extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. If you want the clothes customers are bringing in for cash, PAY FOR THEM? Atleast maybe offer cash? Just seemed super greedy and rubbed me the wrong way. If I wanted to donate these clothes, I would’ve went the 10 salvation armies I passed on the way to clothes mentor, I actually had a seperate bag of clothes I intended to donate because they weren’t “clothes mentor style”. Hope she loves her free new outfits from me 😔 if this review deters anyone from going here, you will thank me later !!!!! I will reach out to the corporate company to let them know my experience as well in the store and if this is allowed by employees.

Nice big selection — rather overpriced — they stop buying stuff after 4 … so you work until 5 or 6 PM, you can never bring your clothes in for resale. I’ll be selling on eBay.

I always find amazing deals and great brand name items! I am never disappointed by the selection. Darcy has been a huge help and she has excellent customer service skills. This place is amazing !! I’m a regular and I would encourage everyone to shop here !!

I was excited when I heard there was a resale store in the area that has plus size clothing as so few do. It made me happy to think about fat women like myself not having to just look at the shoes and accessories while our friends looked through racks on racks of clothes. However, this store is not actually size inclusive. They only go up to a 3x. I tried to sell 4x & 5x clothes here and they got turned away. The sales associate told me they were great pieces, but they don’t accept over a 3x. I don’t care about my clothing not being purchased, but I do care about plus size people getting the same shopping experience as straight size people. It makes no sense to me why they would buy some plus sizes, but not all. Clearly it’s not because no one will sell them clothing over 3x because I brought in at least 20 items. If they’re not going to buy my clothes because they’re too big, they could have at least lied to me and told me that it just wasn’t what they were looking for rather than say they’re great pieces, but too big. I’ll give them 2 stars instead of 1 because at least they stock some plus sizes, but it was an embarrassing experience for me and they should be embarrassed for making me feel less than for being over 3x.

I've been here many times over the years and almost always walk away with something. Some of my favorite pieces come from here. Everything is well organized and they always have lots of stock to look through with varying styles and target ages/demographic. My friend and I shopped together and are different sizes and styles and both found lots to try on. Staff used to be just ok, sometimes friendly sometimes not, but the last visit was so incredible in terms of costumer service. Helpful without being pushy and just fun and sweet folks working there. I purchased a handful of items I loved and know I'll be back again.

Drove all the way from Auburn…nothing online stating they only buy on certain days. Never again.
