Miracles! I almost canceled my application for an account because of the phone system, but then I went in person and spoke to April who was a complete Godsend! Immediately my account was opened, and I had a personal loan to pay off all my debts within minutes. It was a miracle. I had tried to get a loan and the interest rates were so high and the hoops I had to go through were ridiculous. This was low interest and no hoops. I thank God for April and this bank! What a blessing. Thank you Empower!

Been dealing with Empower for years easiest people to deal with as far as getting A loan. Other banks I had dealt with for many years gave me a hard time about getting a loan. They gave me many loans right over the phone. Great bank

The only complaint I have it’s that the drive thru is often down or the transaction I want to make is unavailable. It gets really frustrating

Dropped 100 points from my credit score because on a secure loan (a loan i payed the fully amount ahead of time and set up to autopay) magically needed my consent for the final payment. That final payment went unnoticed by me for over a month even tho they already had my money (I moved out of state was using a new bank). You would think something big like this they may reach out by phone or text but no. When I called to get the claim removed from my credit report explaining to them the whole point of my secure loan was to build credit and pay it ahead of time and that I already gave them the full amount for the loan I got nothing but crickets. They blamed me not them. I blame them as this last payment was never explained to me. These scammers even recommended I just set up a new secure loan to build up all the credit I loss. Funny how this affects my livelihood. Can't even qualify for an apartment now due directly to this establishment. You guys have the ability to remove it from my report you chose to not. I have the ability to remove all of my money from my accounts so you cant make money on my money anymore. I slowly have been.

I had the worst experience this morning?I was the first with 3 other vehicles in the drive thru. The drive thru open at exactly 830am. I filled out my bank slip and sent it to the teller. It took almost 8 minutes before someone came to the camera to speak with me. The first teller was nice she asked me how I wanted my money back I told her and she said my money would be right out. Almost 7 minutes goes by another teller comes to the camera and asked the same question I’m like what’s going on I just talked with a teller and now you what’s going on. The second teller informs me she’s the only person distributing the money and thanks for being patient. Now I’m mad because for me to be the first in the drive thru and all the other cars that was with me has done their transactions and left I’m still here. After waiting another 5 minutes I ring the bell a 3rd teller gets on and say we were doing audits your money is on the way out. I said doing an audit for what everything in my account is from direct deposit. I also said it’s because I’m black I’m not supposed to have that much money in my account that’s prejudice. As I’m sitting watching 3 tellers in the camera all looking at me. After 24 minutes I finally got my money. Stop judging people I work hard for everything I have?

Can't do any banking without constantly going to the branch. Over the phone customer service wait limes always greater than 10 minutes and then hangs up on you. Constant fraud declines even when informing them of charges ahead of time. Will still hold finances when they have declined due to fraud so your account is less the fraud amount until they release it. Leaving Empower as soon as I can.

Nice atmosphere with kind people working there. I was able to open an account quickly and smoothly. Having my card printed on site was new to me and something I appreciated. Much better experience than my old bank. Caitlin helped me open an account and was very kind and knowledgeable. Great experience!

I have used this bank since i have had a bank account. I created a business account here and it was the worst experience ever. They repeatedly deposited my money into the wrong accounts. Even depositing my money into a different companies account. I quickly switched for my business account. I thought everything was fine with my personal account until i needed something. Try calling customer service. Before you create an account just try calling. They literally do not answer. I waited for 28 minutes the first time and 46 minutes the second time both with no answer. I cannot wait to pull my money out of this terribly ran business and switch banks.

They are always nice, attentive.. They offer in my experience the best rate of interest. It is safe place and nice neighborhood.

Terrible PLACE! Girl at kiosk asked me to take seat- waited 28 minutes/ people sit at desks/ doing nothing! 3 people walked out of there offices - while 3 of us where seated! Another guy, (tall guy) finished with someone walked out of office/ while all of his us still remained seated, and Un-helped!!!! I need to refinance my loan and get the HELL out of this horrible customer service place!!!! P.S. WATCH THESE SLICK PEOPLE!!! Made payments every month- and they claim I DIDNT pay in full- they claim I owe $$, they are trying to make me 30 days late!!!! Even though I payed every month!!!! The lady at the Onondaga road, Syracuse location sent me to a ATM THAT THE CASH WITHDRAWAL ISNT WORKING!!!! This place is unbelievable!!!!

This bank is terrible now! They will give anyone an account. Super long lines, the worst thing about this bank is the atm there. Half the time its down. I tried to deposit cash, and the machine took my money and canceled the sale. I'm not the only one its happening to either. Then the bank takes almost 2 weeks to deposit the money they stole. I'm going to switch banks pretty soon, I advise anyone else on doing so too
