Nice people, always helpful and friendly tellers. Been with them for over 15 years and have never had a problem or issue. Saved significant amount in fees over commercial banks. Have had several car and home equity loans at great rates.

I've been a customer since this was 2 separate credit unions(20+yrs)...Power & Empire. I was an original Power customer. I was pleased with the service I have had with Empower until this month and it came in the form of a $937 discrepancy as an error on their end. I find this totally unacceptable any time of the year,but especially this time of the year when I have not only Christmas,but my daughter is turning 9 on the 27th and I live on disability,so I won't find relief for this problem until January. I think I am going to close out my accounts and will not be recommending this credit union to anyone I know who may be looking to open an account somewhere...but hey I can at least take her to show her the Amphitheater in exchange I guess

The federal government should look into how empower can repo a vehicle when every payment was made on time, 0 payments were ever missed. Full insurance. This "bank" stole my property with no legal right or reason. No notice at all. I can show damage to my property and person caused by empower, for which they are legally liable. Avoid these scum at all costs if you care about your money or property.

I would give them 0 stars if this was an option. I actually downloaded this app specifically to rate this credit union. Quite possibly the worst credit union in the upstate ny region. Credit unions are supposed to be for the members, unlike major banks. I have been with them for 16 years, and my father for 40. The first time in my life I've been dealing with fraud. I have a police report, and multiple attempts to talk to someone at the banks fraud department. After contacting them 4 times, I finally got a call back. Was told that they deemed it not fraudulent, even with a police report filed. 1500 dollars, not a lot to them, incredibly important for me to pay bills, eat food. To live. I will be taking my direct deposits to Visions. The only way these credit unions make money. Customer lost. They have gotten too big, forgetting their roots. For crying out loud they have the Fair's Amphitheater named after them.

I’m thankful to have a great experience each time I go. Definitely better than the summit fcu. My favorite representative is Tammy, she works really hard and does her absolute best whenever she assists me with my needs. She helped me open my CD and auto loan. The only issue I came across was depositing money without ID. My mom wanted to deposit money through the drive-thru and forgot her purse at home so they wouldn’t take the money. I had to deposit it into my account with my ID and transfer it over to her. I understand when it comes to withdrawals wanting to ID the member but who’s gonna complain about receiving money into their account?

I hope many can end up seeing this. I have been a customer with multiple accounts for over 30 years. Empower recently altered me to a possible fraud on one of my debit checking account cards. I responded immediately with it being a fraud and they changed the card. I then put in a dispute for the charge to get funds back from this obvious fraud (that they alerted about). Make a long long story short they denied us any money returned after having many days of arguing this and a visit to the bank. This was not a huge amount thank goodness but still very disappointing. They refusing to make it right for a very long term customer when obviously the transaction was questionable is such poor business as is getting the run around. I canceled immediately all my accounts with them and will use a bank that has my back.

I have been with empower for over two decades and have never had any problems with them. I paid car loan off early and got letter removing lien within two weeks. Hours seem to be in line with most area banks. Have never encountered a rude customer service employee.

Switching to Chase Bank. Empowers customer service is beyond rude, they don’t offer text alerts, and they do routine maintenance at 10:30 in the morning on a Saturday when many check their balances before shopping. Their app is like something out of 2010. If credit unions want to survive in 2023, they need to get with the times. I would never get a mortgage or car loan through them. They treat their “members” like customers. They are not community centered as they want you to think. If you need baking in the 21st century, go with anyone else.

It’s great to have security features, but a little over the top when you’re constantly having to call and get your account unlocked. Their online system is so broken that your personal credentials will match, but the system won’t recognize it and you won’t gain access to your account.Customer Service just wastes oxygen giving you excuses such as “maybe the internet connection is bad” - what a joke. It’s been a good ride, but all good things eventually end and Empower is only good at causing customers frustration.

Worst costumer service and call system I have ever experience. I’m closing my business with them just for that. If communication with your bank is important for you then stay away.
