I’ve been an ITC member for a few years now. I spend thousands of dollars at harbor freight stores every year. My main store is the north Syracuse store but I was in the city and had 2 broken tools I need to replace so I stopped at this location. I had a torque wrench and a multi tool that both broke when I was using them when changing my brakes. The employee at the register wasn’t sure of the warranties so he called the manager Mykal up to help. Mykal talked extremely fast, and made it seem like they weren’t going to take the tools back. While he was talking down to me, there was spit coming out of his mouth and hitting my face. I know it wasn’t intentional, so I asked him calmly to repeat how the warranties work again this time without spitting on me and he turned to his employee that was working the register who’s name is Jeff, and told him not to issue my refund for either item and to leave the store and then walked to his office and closed the door. I was so dumbfounded I had no idea what to do so I called the police. While the police were coming Jeff said to me that the manager would have issued my returns if I didn’t “raise my voice”. At no point was my voice raised, and they also informed me that when the police get there they were going to have them trespass me. I did absolutely nothing wrong and it’s all caught on camera because I could see us on the screen they have that shows the security camera right by the registers. I was about to leave but wanted to let Mykal know that I would be contacting corporate about this as I had done nothing wrong and he was abusing his power as a manager for no reason. At this point I had been extremely calm and collected. The employees started to gang up on me, Mykal, Jeff and another employee all three raising their voices at me, Jeff at one point calling me a f*****g loser, he screamed it at me. I ended up leaving the store and waiting for the police. They informed me they also have problems at this store and don’t go there. I ended up calling Harbor Freight corporate to let them know I was not only yelled at but sworn at by one of their employees that I know for a fact was caught on camera, this was about 3 days ago that I called (the day it happened) I was told someone else would be reaching out to me but I have not heard anything back yet. It’s a shame that harbor freight allows employees to yell and swear at customers who just want to return their tools. I went to the north Syracuse location and they exchanged the tools no questions asked because they were both covered UNDER WARRANTY. They even went and grabbed the new ones for me. The employees at the Dewitt location could learn a thing or two from the north Syracuse store. the employees at the Dewitt location, specifically Mykal and Jeff are the most disrespectful, unprofessional representatives of any company I have ever met in my life.

Clean store, but more importantly, FANTASTIC customer service. I was fortunate enough to be helped by Lauren, a cashier, and proud employee of Harbor Freight's. She is a wonderful surprise in terms of friendliness and professional care. What a joy it was to have had her assistance.
