Wish I could give them less than 1 star. Worst bank to deal with. Put my card on hold and did not inform me. Blocked a check that I received from my father and suspended my whole account. Wasn’t able to access money for almost 2 weeks. They were impossible to get a hold of and had to go through about 7 people to get it unblocked. Horrible business.

This is the worst branch. The people that work here are incredibly rude.

Your teller Elizabeth is extremely unprofessional and completely incompetent. She is LITERALLY the only person whom gives me trouble with cashing and depositing my checks.

I needed a Notary Public for a very urgent matter. They not only saw me and helped me without an appointment, but I was in and out in less than fifteen minutes! I love M&T

I have had a checking account with this institution for over 1 year. Every month I send the same wire transfer to my Thai wife. This time the Salina St Syracuse Manager was my processor. She demanded a copy of my Thai Marriage Certificate (as though she could read Thai) before she would help me....What a Bi@#$.

I am the owner of Erie Canal Bike Tours, we attempted to use M&T Bank for business banking and our experience was simply horrific. They bungled our accounts at every possible turn. I could not believe the struggles we went through. Every single person we dealt with from the customer service on the phone, to the business directors were dumbfoundingly incompetent.

At ever turn when I need M and T bank they fail me! Today last straw as I am in the bank waiting for a rep who is standing their, a rep said what I needed, she proceeded to talk and chatty chat with peers so I wait while she continues! Then proceeds to bash me and lie about what she told me the day before, I say say I am right here! Wow u should wait till ur customers their back before you make a remark about what u said! Can't wait to leave this bank! Years of this and over and over they fall short!

After being a long time and loyal client with M&T bank, I had to make the difficult decision of closing my accounts. I made this decision based on a experience I had with the Downtown Syracuse branch, where I originally set up my savings and checking account with a large deposit. After banking with them for almost two years I have never had an issue until now. I was charged a $125 to my Savings account and I was unaware why. I called customer service and they explained the ex

Rude. Rude. Rude. The tellers act like they are doing you a favor to do simple tasks like deposit money. God-forbid you dont have all your information right they will sigh and act like you are wasting their time. Ive never been treated so rudely at a bank... and its not a one time thing either. It happens every time, almost regardless of what teller Im talking to. Other branches are slightly better, but not much. M&T either needs some serious customer service retraining or needs to treat their employees better as they appear to be taking it out on customers. I only switched because HSBC left the area-- I never felt like HSBC was super nice or anything, but I guess I just took for granted a smile and a helpful, pleasant teller... silly me. Stopped into Solvay the next day after deciding to switch-- and its literally night and day difference. If you want to bank local, try Solvay. If you want a national branch, better customer service and more branches elsewhere. Also, they dont have withdrawl forms. At all. If you want to get money out of your account, better have a check ready or use an ATM. I always found that really really weird.
