This particular Salvation Army is overpriced, and exploits the "volunteers" who are required to work there as part of the rehab program. They're not allowed to talk to each other, other than to ask a question on behalf of a customer. They can't even say "how was your weekend?" or "good to see you" to another conscripted "volunteer". I don't like the pseudo military structure, and the national leadership is overwhelmingly white men, though the staff seems overwhelmingly otherwise. Hmmmm. I have shopped Salvation army since I was in my teens, but the one on Erie boulevard is particularly overpriced. There are better options locally at any of the thrifty Shoppers.

Had whole trunk full of good stuff to donate. stopped on my way to work to drop off. Yes it was 7am - only time I could do it. A worker in a red shirt refused to let me leave it by the door. He said "no one was there to take it." But he stood there watching to make sure I left. went to McDonalds and Drove back by there 10 min later and he was standing there with 4 other guys all smoking by the side of the building. 5 guys already on a smoke break but No one was there to take stuff that was packaged in boxes and could have been left on the dock. I took my Donations elsewhere. Never going here again.

nice clothes and shoes for a great price.

the clothes are very expensive, and in bad conditions, the prices are placed in the fabric of the clothes and they damage them more, I would never recommend this store.

I found a great mid-century teak chair here for $8. And the workers are super nice. One of them accompanied me out to the parking lot so that I could check whether the chair could fit into the car before I bought it. Good place to check out in Syracuse!

Every Wednesday is Family Day - so all but one of the price ticket color for clothing is 1/2 price. There is a huge assortment of clothing and (as other reviewers have indicated) it is assorted according to color rather than size. Many of my favorite pieces of clothing have come from this particular store. Also, there is a large assortment of housewares and, depending upon what is available, sometimes a large assortment of furniture. We needed several folding chairs for a family event and I went in weekly until I had the number of chairs that we needed. As with my clothing purchases, some of my favorite furniture items (bedroom dressers in particular) and housewares are from the Salvation Army. Although I am not an antique collector per se, I've seen some great vintage furniture and houseware itms for sale. As for the cleanliness of the store - well, these are donated items so not everything is sparkling! The long-time employees are friendly and engaging; some of the newer ones may not have acquired the skills to work in a retail environment - which is the case in even upscale retail stores as well. So I recommend a trip to the Salvation Army - even without a planned purchase in mind. You have to factor in enough time to look around. You never know...

They don't take certain donation items and honestly the clothing selection stinks. Other than clothing I have never seen anything else in good condition at this store

Nuts. A whacko tried to put "moves" on me in the back of the store. Felt unsafe there. Another whacko attempted to convert me to his religion while I was waiting for the first one to leave. Nasty place. The clerk up front publicly put down her coworker in front of a bunch of customers. Probably a racial thing. It was horrible. I will not be going back.

A good thrift store with competitive prices, especially if you shop their frequent sale days. Could have a better selection of houseware, but cheap prices make up for a lack of choices.

They have a large selection of household items and a large selection of clothing for both men and women. The staff is helpful if you need help. Parking right outside the door. Public transportation at the street. Public bathroom available. Great prices. And all-around great shopping experience.

The store is clean and easy to get to. The staff is helpful. However, the organization is hard to find the things that you want. You have to sort by colors not by weather you want blue jeans or dress pants. Even though the items are second-hand they're still good quality.
