How does a theater have smoke machines, that they use regularly, but set off the smoke alarm? How are you not prepared for that? Secondly, I don't know how on Earth a Disney performance ended up in this dump of a theater. I literally saw my son perform as a 4-year-old there, it's not a theater for a Disney performance. We were let in with about 5 minutes to spare, and we didn't even see the opening act and the fire alarms were going off. We were sent outside in the freezing cold to be told they were going to let us wait in the hallway of the building across the street. After waiting for about 20 minutes there, we went back to the Civic center building and waited outside of the theater doors for another 20 minutes. Then, the fire marshal came out and told us it would be another 30 minutes before they could allow anyone in the theater as they needed to smoke to dissipate. The fake, purposefully used smoke, that was part of the show, to dissipate. If we would have stayed for the show I'm sure it would have been 11:30 at night by the time they were done. If the show even went on, who knows. The only benefit of all of this was they were allowing refunds. Though they tried to funnel me into the next show on Sunday at 2 p.m.
I spent $50 in concession that I never would have spent in a million years if I wasn't there, and if I wasn't planning on being there I wouldn't have bought any of it. So between the parking and the concession, I lose anyway. Popcorn was $5 and not very fresh. Candy was $5 and also not very fresh. Beer was 13.00...
I do have to say good on the couple of actors that came out to entertain the crowd while they were waiting. I'm sure the parents with smaller children appreciated that.
I find it somewhat embarrassing that we have Disney come to town for Newsies and stuff them in this dump of a theater and have this happen. Par for the course here in syracuse, the promoters in this city have always stunk.
Still completely baffled about the smoke machine... Smh

I purchased tickets for the Nikki Glazier show tonight and I bought row x seat 41 and 42 they do not exist. I was put in a fold up chair. A plastic folding chair when I paid for orchestra seats. Please know that if you buy row x 41 and 42 it doesn’t exist

Very nice place, a little dated though, as the seats were not made for larger people. I'm 5'11" and about 285lbs, and my knees touched the seat in front of me if I tried to sit at a natural angle for my hips. We were there for a focl event, and the couple of hours we sat were very uncomfortable. If it weren't for that, it would have been an A+ event overall.
