When a 40-ft tree fell on our wheelchair van we found ourselves scrambling to find a replacement. We had high hopes of getting a Silverado w/wheelchair passenger mod to replace it. Although 9 hours away from our location, Rich was able to check measurements of the truck we liked for compatibility with our particular wheelchair model, but found that -- due to 4WD -- the modification on this particular vehicle wouldn't work with our current equipment. We appreciate Rich taking the time to answer questions and research those details, and hope to some day make the trip to Syracuse to find our next ride.

I’ve been going to United Access for years, first for vehicle adaptation and then years later for some repairs related to the adaption. From my experience they are always very responsive, reliable and do good work.

Rich is a fantastic salesman to purchase from. We were looking for a Toyota sienna side entry van. And he was able to send me a few options within a few days. We chose the one we wanted. And it was shipped from Texas to his location in Syracuse, NY. When it arrived, he went through the vehicle with us to ensure we were satisfied. And it was in the condition as advertised. He was able to get the entire buying process done efficiently, even with our tight schedule. The only issue we had (not his fault) was, after a few days of driving it. It developed a clunk in the steering. I emailed Rich to let him know what was happening. He informed me about taking it to a local trusted shop to diagnose it, and it would be taken care of. After doing some research. I discovered the clunk in the steering was common on some Siennas from 2017-2020. There was a pending recall, but only for Siennas 2017- 2020. Ours was a 2015, so it wasn't effected. (Recall /19TSESS). Rich made the repair process quick, and he made sure to check up on the van after the repair. My initial rating of Rich was a 5/5, but after this repair, I rate him a 6/5. He stood behind his product and was transparent throughout the whole process. I recommend rich at United Access to anyone looking to buy a mobility product.Salesman- Rich GerthVehicle-2015 Toyota sienna XLE Premium. ~29k miles at time of purchase. (1/13/2023)

Originally I thought this place was great. I bought a 4k lift here. When I called asking about service I was spoken to so rudely by Jeff. Blanket labeling people with disabilities in a place where you are servicing those same people. Also he went off on a tangent about people should call Dodge and Toyota about picking up their vehicles (mind you I never asked) however bad rant as many dealers do offer a porter service. However appointments where weeks out but instead of just saying that he felt the need to tell me "Everyone we service here has problems just like yours" spare me the lessons if everyone has to deal with this you wouldn't have a specialty service shop. Moral of the story if you're disabled your trash and nothing but 140 bucks and hour to these guys, I'm appalled and saddened by this I suggest you go somewhere else. Except they got you because there's only a few places that have this service in the state because not many have these problems that Jeff seems to dismiss.

I am a wheelchair user, whenever I have gone there, I do not feel as if I am treated as an adult (I'm 25). I am not very pleased with their customer service as they have taken several weeks before they could even look at my vehicle. If you're looking for a great wheelchair van repair place, I suggest Agor Enterprises in rochester. They got my van in 3 days and had it done in 3 days, also having the best customer care. I would rather drive triple the distance then to go here. Just my 2¢P.S. The van I used to have, they told me it was too old and they would not work on it, And were not willing to help me find a solution. The second time I went there, they said they could fix it but it would not guarantee it not happening again. Aka, problem not fixed. I don't usually give bad reviews. But after 3 visits being treated the same way all 3 times. This is one that needed to be done.

Brian and Scott were courteous and caring. Scott took the time to explain completely the operation of the adaptive equipment he installed, and answered all of my questions. They exceeded my expectations.

United Access is a great company to deal with. They helped me get my life back by installing the right hand controls for my car to give me back my independence. What I like most about United Access is their willingness to work with me. I had to get a minor adjustment to my controls and they took me right in and fixed the problem within 15 minutes. They are friendly, helpful and encouraging to those who really need it. They made a difficult situation into an easy and enjoyable solution. I'm so grateful for their expertise.

Started out good.Having problems with lift. And this is the reason we bought the van.For the lift. They gave us a loaner so they could keep it as long as they need it.Said it was fixed, was not fixed.Went back same deal.Said it was fixed. Not fixed.I don t care if it works a few times there,it doesn t work when we need it.We have to physically push ramp to get it to start moving.Very annoying and not safe for my daughter depending on circumstances.Remotes work sometimes. But only after a ritual. Now we are having a huge problem getting it to stow.Next appt. they wanted us to be there so we could see lift operate before it left.Bad plan.Plus we have a very limited window of time we can be there,as we need to transport our daughter. We can only be there about 3hrs. with my daughter s hrs. and our drive time.So we set up appt.We get there. No mechanic. They re out running errands. There went about an hr. before van got in.If they can t fix it in days, what are they going to do in 2 hrs.?So we have the long drive and then have to sit in waiting room for hrs.Not fixed.Worse.Been weeks nocalls back.Last 2 times I called I thought I was getting attitude. We are very patient and understanding people but that ticked me off.We never complained about the other things that didn t work in van.We just want the lift to work.We know how to operate it.This is not our fault. We would like something done about it.This is our second purchase there. We should not be treated like an inconvenience. There s actually more I can say,but I won t.We had problems with the first one.Again never fixed right but we got so frustrated we let it go.But this is a simple lift and we want it fixed without being made to feel like we did something wrong. We had a lift like this before for years and never had a problem. We are not going to let this go without it getting fixed or go elsewhere for a solution.
