If you have a desire to meet an early death, by all means go here. If Upstate Univ. Hospital is your only option you are better off staying home. They deliberately bought the cheapest /counterfeit PPE to give to doctors and nurses while spending MILLIONS on a failed merger with Crouse Hospital. From 2020 to 2023 they were more concerned with acquiring more money and power. Why does Mantosh Dewan still have his job. The HHS inspector General and OSHA needs to investigate this place.

Absolutely ridiculous wait time. I'm losing blood like crazy with a RESTING heart rate of over 100. ( 112-113 ) and high blood pressure because my body is trying to stop me from losing all the blood that I'm losing.

Awful, awful, awful. Awful isn’t even the word for this place and they know it too. The most unprofessional EVER. They are not compassionate at all. They do not care. They will let your family member die. Not very clean either. My family member who had cancer but had a great chance at living became even sicker when he was admitted into this hospital because he had gotten covid from the hospital and then a bacterial infection from the hospital! Bacterial infection because they are not clean and professional. He was neglected here and even developed bed sores and would lay in his own vomit for hours. He became so much sicker here and depressed that he decided he just wanted to pass and they’re letting him because they know they messed up. On top of it all he’s only allowed to say good bye to 8 people and that was pushing it for them. And they only let two people in the room at a time to say good bye.

Well ER is good but the rehabilitation unit sucks they forget to feed their patients don’t check on them and take forever to give medicine highly recommended for the ER but for rehab never bring your parents/grandparents here ever.

No compassion. Timeframe was unrealistic. Hours of wasted time. They take your vitals to make you feel heard.Make sure you're *referred and even then- GOOD LUCK.

We went to the ER and sat unhelped for 3 hours. Failed to get the vein when drawing blood. Misplaced the blood and then told us the wrong information and asked to to stay longer after the 6 hour mark. They fight you on the idea of leaving once you do what they want bc they want to profit not only in random tests but their pay to park business

Staff brushed off my situation as if it wasn’t important (it requires surgery) and a RN closed the door in my face when I wanted to ask. All the black ppl in the waiting room are dropped from priority no matter their condition while everyone else coming and going within a few hours. I’ve had to wait 15 to get seen and my issue wasn’t even resolved. The worse staffed ER and it’s worse now than it’s ever been. The bias and racism definitely shows

My newborn son came in and was immediately seen for what wound up being an infection and onset sepsis. The team acted promptly and saved his life, giving him the opportunity to make a full recovery. To the pediatric ER department, thank you for your swift and efficient care to stabilize him.To the PICU team, you were absolutely unbelievable. We were blessed with having him under the leadership of Dr. Wratney, who helped coordinate a plethora of specialists and nurses to give him top notch care. Thank you to all of you who helped our greatest joy regain his strength! To the pediatric surgery floor, thank you for continuing his care as he progressed and ensuring that both of us parents were well situated. To the child life team, thank you for making our holiday special and supporting our family during a tough time through your grace and generosity!Upstate has left a lasting impact on our family that we’ll be forever grateful for, and seek to pay it forward in the future by supporting this establishment!

My mom was brought in to the ER with Covid and secondary infection. I’m writing this as we are into hour 12 of waiting for a room. A dozen different doctors have been in and not come back, each with a different decision about mom’s care- and I still don’t really know what is going on except they are all trying to get me to change her life support wishes. The alarms continue to sound with little to no response, no idea why they have them if none is going to answer even though they are sitting in the curtain room next door.

If I could give them less than one star, I would. They botched my Kidney transplant from a living donor (my wife). Its been a few years consistently that they can't get their billing correct. They miss tele-med appointments, while putting in my records I missed the appointment, making it look like I am uncompliant. Then, today when I'm sick with covid, they are sending medication to pharmacies that don't carry the medication, including their own upstate pharmacy. I wouldn't let them work on a goldfish at this point. I'm looking for other options immediately for my ongoing care. Their client services and patient etiquette are appalling.

Waiting in pediatrics ER from direct transfer from ACH, from a 6 year old being bitten from a dog literally torn ear chest back and head placed in waiting room without triage waiting over 2&half hours , while others being taken in over us . Un believable and they say this is the best around ???? Who's writing the review all about the Benjamin's. Not happy grand parent

Terrible place to be. My dad was rushed to this hospital in an ambulance, unconscious. Kept him in the icu (when he didn’t need to be) for two weeks & all they did was a detox when he was suffering with diverticulitis. St Joseph’s hospital found that out in the matter of two hours of him being there & specifically told my father & I he had talked to upstate & they were only treating him for detox. I have heard multiple rumors from my managers at work upstate let their loved ones die. As long as “it’s not their family member” they do not care. Upstate hospital let in a family member that knew was not on good terms with my father but they wouldn’t listen because it’s still family, but when that person came in the room his heart rate went up & nearly went in a stroke & made him worse. I have seen nurses at upstate hospital come out of a patients room & mock them as they have spasms. I tried to make a complaint, someone said there would be someone I could talk to about it on their way…. 7 hours later…. That didn’t happen. There’s better nurses at well now. This is not a place I will ever want to go for help or as a workplace. Do better.
