From hero to zero - this used to be my trusted spot for a great selection at reasonable prices, but sadly since the change in ownership that's no longer the case.
All but one staff suddenly gone, prices got significantly marked up and lights shut off in the back section of the shop.
To whomever bought this shop, this was a marquee spot in Tarrytown that had friendly banter, knowledgeable folks and happy faces coming in and out. All I got today was the feeling of walking into a gas station in Arizona and leaving with some booze.
Will take a long while before I come back.

I just had a very strange experience here. Even though I moved to Sleepy Hollow a year ago, I just started going to this wine shop maybe two months ago and was VERY impressed with it--the impressive displays, the cordial staff--a real win, win in my opinion. Tonight I wandered in looking for a finer Cabernet--not super pricey but around the $40-$50 price range. I directed myself to those wines and asked the clerk what made these wines so special. His answers included, "They taste really good," or "The label is enticing." Well, I wasn't completely satisfied with those answers but I decided to purchase the wine anyway when the owner came to me and said, "I don't like your tone, and if you're not going to purchase the wine, I'd like you to leave." She then escorted me to the door. It was clear that they didn't have an experienced wine staff. I have no problem with that. But in the few times that I've purchased wine there, it's clear that this is very true. It's a lovely store with a nice selection, but it clearly lacks knowledge of wine.

Wow. The wine they have here is an amazing selection. They get new stuff all the time.The website is an indulgent treat. You can read blurbs for each bottle. Do online check out. Pay in person in cash if you wish.Everyone is nice, and enthusiastic about giving excellent suggestions.The 12 bottle box I ordered today had one bottle out of stock. Danny promptly e-mailed asking what I would like to do. I replied, that he please pick me a bottle. I’m drinking from the bottle that was his addition to my order; it’s amazing. It’s sweet with a full body. The after taste is so pleasing. I wish I could describe it more.I will definitely be attending their Friday/Saturday wine tastings.A+ to Grape Expectations. All around fantastic. Only place I go to for wine anymore.

Charles Dickens would be proud. Great customer service and a variety of wines and spirits at great prices. As more of a spirits fan they have some producers that I am fond of that no one else is willing to carry due to their production capacity and putting more care into producing rather than marketing. Goes to show they care about what goes on their shelf as well.
