Customer service is awful. How can the entire pharmacy staff go to lunch at the same time ?!

Pleasantville Pharmacy always made sure customers had a few pills to cover insurance glitches or late prescription renewals even for Schedule II "controlled substance" drugs. Then they'd diligently subtract those pills from one's 30 day supply once filled. In fact, a little research shows that filling 30-day prescriptions one or two days early (to allow for contingencies) is not unusual at many pharmacies, although it is at their discretion.Don't expect any wiggle room at the Walgreen pharmacy in Thornwood. Whatever your situation, it's thirty days from the day you picked it up, not the date on the label. Period. And you might arrive during their posted business hours to find them inexplicably closed, with a note "apologizing for any inconvenience". (happened to me several times). Apparently unforeseen circumstances are okay for them, just not you.And FYI - "Part 80: Rules and Regulations on Controlled Substances in NYS: No additional prescriptions for a controlled substance may be issued by a practitioner to an ultimate user within 30 days of the date of any prescription previously issued unless and until the ultimate user has exhausted all but a seven days' supply of that controlled substance provided by any previously issued prescription." UPDATE, 8/22 - have switched to CVS: they are superior in every respect.

Can't get through to a pharmacist there on the phone. After holding for 1 hour the pharmacist goes on break. Worst experience I had.I would recommend CVS around the corner over Walgreen pharmacy.

I was a Pleasantville Pharmacy customer until they closed and transferred all their prescriptions to this Walgreens, which clearly cannot handle it. Every visit is a minimum 15-minute wait because they are understaffed, and I am now currently standing in line for the 3rd time in 3 days because they have screwed up my prescription. I’ll be transferring my business to the CVS down the street.

The pharmacy has gotten to be ridiculous....they don't have enough help! Waited in line for 45 minutes to pick up a script that wasn't even ready !!!

The Pharmacy
Terrible service, 4 people working but not much being done. lines 35 and 40 minutes long. I've met people on the line that have been there as many as four times in one day and still leaving without meds. It took two trips one day to get a refill for my wife's meds.
Here's my experience:
Doctor sends two prescriptions Monday, early afternoon.
I go Tuesday morning. There's a problem with one of the prescriptions due to insurance, the other one went through but is not ready.
Wednesday AM I get an email telling me my prescriptions are ready.
Wednesday I go during their lunch break. I wait, first in line.
When I get to the window only ONE is ready. The other, even though they SAY it is ready cannot be filled because the pharmacist hasn't typed out the label(?!). They say I can wait for it but there are four people waiting ahead of me. I've already been there forty minutes.
I go there Thursday around 10:30 AM and there are eleven people waiting on line. Five to ten minutes each. Do the math.

Awful service and no one will even acknowledge your presence let alone help you. Parking ok but often out of name brand products like Tylenol

Worst customer service. Especially during a pandemic. Completely unwilling to help patients in need. Unacceptable on every level. Your pharmacists should be ashamed. All others are heroes, not in this store.

Always 10 people on line with one person working the register. Always 2 people working the photo section while customers wait 10 minutes to check out. Insane.

Good service, but the parking lot is a maze. Not usually crowded. The problem is that my bonus rewards won't save me a penny. When I first started the rewards program I had massive savings. Now I don't save anything and the prices are steep. Not a good bargain at all.

Clean. Has private parking. Average Walgreens. Great to pick up last minute items. Staff is friendly. I always seem to wait in line when I'm here. Location is very convenient.
