I scheduled a haircut and highlights appointment for my daughter and made sure to communicate clearly with the salon ahead of time that she has very thick, curly, biracial hair. so they’d be fully aware of her hair type and could prepare accordingly.
Unfortunately, when we arrived for the appointment, they only attempted the highlights and did not cut her hair at all. Even the highlights were not done properly — they admitted they couldn’t brush or section her hair due to its texture, which left the result uneven and unprofessional. Despite all this, they still expected full payment for a service they were not equipped to provide.
I ultimately refused to pay because the service was incomplete and not done properly, which I feel was entirely fair under the circumstances. I’m disappointed not just in the lack of preparation, but in the overall experience for my daughter — no one should be made to feel like their natural hair is a burden.
I hope this salon takes this feedback seriously and either invests in proper training for diverse hair types or is more transparent about their limitations upfront. Until then, I would not recommend this location for clients with textured or curly hair. I have proof the girl told me she could cut her hair as well as highlighted. I also have proof of Dana being very unprofessional.

Are people getting discounts or freebies for 5 star reviews about how *friendly* this place is? Because that was not my experience. These “friendly” people berated my stylist my entire visit. It was exhausting to listen to. I think she may have only been working one day a week and that apparently made her fair game for bullying. Bullies. That’s how I’d describe the staff and stylists at this salon. Unfriendly, unkind, mean-spirited bullies. Maybe it’s a Tonawanda thing. It was my first time at this salon, and my last, even though I liked the stylist. Hopefully she’s moved on to someplace that doesn’t treat her like trash.

Alex made me feel so comfortable as this was my first haircut in several years and I was nervous. She also didn’t cut too much off- this is the first haircut I’ve ever gotten where I didn’t feel sad after and instead felt super confident lol! Will continue going to her!

I had a deva cut with Loretta yesterday. I have been looking for a salon closer to my home that specialize in textured hair. mine is more of a wavy/curly combo.
Loretta was kind and kept the length and lightened the load a bit by layering. she went in all different directions since I told her I do different parts (depends on my mood or what it want to do), and she made sure it all fell in a nice way for middle and side parts. her attention to detail was ✨️chef's kiss✨️.
she mentioned that there are others there that specializes in it as well, so if there's ever a date and time that doesn't align with hers, others are available.
I have found my new salon! ☺️

I have been struggling to find someone to cut my toddler’s very curly hair properly. All the hair salons that are meant for kids totally butchered it. After lots of research on curly hair cutting, I decided to book him a cut with Alex at Salon La Moda and I am so happy I did! His hair looks AMAZING and she was incredible working with him. She was so accommodating to us and she helped make it a good experience for him. I will be taking him back when he needs another cut and I will be having her do my own hair soon, too. Please go here, you will not be disappointed!

loved my first experience at la moda with ashley!! i came in with extremely long unhealthy hair from all the bleaching & dyes i went through wanting a change. ashley lifted my hair by giving it textured layers & perfect curtain bangs. i stepped out of the salon feeling so much more confident like a new person. it’s been almost 4 months since then & im still in love with the new healthy hair journey all thanks to ashley !!

I’ve been looking for a salon for a long, long time and I came across some recommendations for Salon La Moda. I scheduled my daughters haircut with Alex and my daughter absolutely loved her and how her hair turned out! I had my appointment with Kristy and wanted to do a balayage and cut after not touching my hair for a year. My hair is crazy thick and long so I can’t thank her enough for her patience and time she spent with me. She was absolutely amazing and made my vision of what I wanted come true! I can’t say enough great things about Salon La Moda and how great Alex and Kristy treated us. 10/10 recommend this salon!!

Just wanted to drop a review for Ally. Just moved to the area and I was looking for a new hairstylist. It’s so hard to find the right one. Well I was looking through Salon La Moda instagram and I saw a few posts of highlighted hair. A few post in particular caught my eye and it was from the same person, Ally. I messaged the salon and the same day I got a response and it was Ally herself. So I booked an appointment with her. My hair looks great!! I’m so happy to have found someone who has tons of knowledge, does amazing work and is easy to talk to. Thanks Ally!!

I absolutely haven’t felt this good in years. Today I had great lengths extensions installed now I’ve had them before however nothing like these. I am truly grateful to have try artists work on my hair.
