It's about 45 minutes walking one way on flat trails. You also can walk on the river bed while hiking to the falls. Waterfall can be low during the summer season, much nicer in the springPlayground: The playground is very nice for young or older kids and it is located in the Cayuga lake parking area.Picnic area: Several picnic areas with tables near the lake and near the playground.

Very beautiful place to have a walk and see a waterfall. Hike from the top to the bottom pretty moderate and about 1 mile long. There is also a parking lot at the bottom of you don't wanna take steps, but there is not much of them

A beautiful and easily accessible park with the tallest, free-flowing waterfall in the eastern United States. You can get a great view from the observation deck right off the road, or you can take a short (0.75 mile) hike to the base of the falls. Spectacular in the fall with all the colors! And very dog friendly, unlike some of the other gorge trails in the Finger Lakes Region.

The best waterfall I’ve ever seen, it was an amazing experience! The outlook was so beautiful. Then walking to get closer was a really nice walk, seeing how huge the rocks are beside you and how long the water goes on for. I couldn’t recommend this one enough!

Did the short gorge trail and then went to the falls overlook. The falls were tall and beautiful. The Cayuga Lake view was very nice in the season.

It’s a little confusing to figure out how to get to the bottom of the falls from google map. We drive to the observation first and then spent a little time figuring out how people got down to the bottom trail. That one starts from the lake and you need to pay for parking there. Or you can park for free take the south ridge trail all the way down and then walk the gorge trail. It’s very impressive the bottom of the river is just a flat rock and if there isn’t a lot of water you can walk on it. Just be aware it gets slippery even tho it doesn’t look like it.

This park is fantastic and has enough activities for the entire family to keep them entertained for the full day. Picnic spaces, playgrounds, a swimming area, kayak rentals, fishing, and camping are available on the lake's shore. You can go back into the gorge across the street to see the magnificent Taughannock Falls. Before departing, I also recommend driving up to the magnificent viewpoint of the falls. It's an excellent location for photography.

This is a beautiful walk to get to the falls! It is all wooded fairly flat and just gorgeous! The waterfall again, I am sure, when spring comes, it's much fuller & even more beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the bottom of the falls after seeing them from the top. And seeing the rock that surrounds the area nature is absolutely amazing!

a beautiful waterfall that you can see from either driving to the top of the mountain for a zoomed out view or parking and hiking to it at the bottom for a closer look! the walk to the waterfall is easy to do for beginners and it even allows you to walk on the rocks were the water once flowed while also taking in the view of the towering rock walls around you. a must see if you’re in the Finger Lakes!

We camp here every year for our anniversary, including right after we got married! We love this campground, it's relatively small, sufficient bathrooms and showers. The campground is right off the rim trail, so if you stay on the east side of the loop you can get a nice lake view through the trees. We also love to do the rim trail--so many incredible views, though fewer views and therefore fewer meanderers on the south side of the gorge. Makes it great for a nice hike if you aren't in the mood for people. Not the longest trail, but if you do a full loop it can make up for it worth all the stairs to get down and up the rim to lake level.

The falls state park is in a couple segments, the upper overlooking, middle, and bottom trail. We started at the upper overlook where parking is free and the visitors center is more a giftshop. The other parking areas cost the state park fee, which is good for all NY state parks for the day.The lower trail is 1.1 miles in and pretty easy track with a well groomed trail. Over-all a beautiful sight.

Loved the hike today. Well not so much a hike but walk along the gorge. Even hit out in some of the flat rocks in the creek bed too. Very cool place and well worth the walk, even though the falls were wispy more than raging.Dog-friendliness: Such a treat to be able to take the dogs

An absolutely stunning walk. We parked near the bridge to the west and did the south rim, then the gorge trail and return, and then did the north rim and it took us about two hours. We did it with a dog which is really cute. Beautiful day stunning waterfall and worth it

Very pretty, river was super low so we could see the dry riverbed. Only thing was other visitors couldn't respect the signs and rules saying not to be in the river after a certain point due to rockfalls ?. Highly recommend! There's a few trails, the lowest one is nice and flat with lots of shade.

Great, short hike to the falls along the gorge trail. Nearly flat hike, easy walking and dog friendly. Waterfall at the end was pretty great but probably cooler in the spring with more rain/runoff. Easy, great hike for the whole family!
