The gentleman with the dirty ponytail at the front office desk was so rude and disgusting. I don’t advise anyone to come here even if you are law-enforcement sad to know that people like that are working with firearms.

Good open space. Mediocre range, but good open space. Terrible setup to hold targets, just a cheap paper clip contraption. Most my time spent here is just trying to get the targets to not fall off. After after a few rounds targets of course, falls off. But great open space and boot space which I love.

PART TWO OF THREEHe then told us that there is a rule that we are not allowed to hold our own classes there, and we explained to him again, we are not holding a class and we are not firearm instructors, we are just helping them shoot so that they do not make any negligent discharges or have any accidents while we are here since this is their first time handling firearms. For some reason this man either did not believe us or just did not understand us and kept telling us what we were doing was against the policy of the range if we are teaching or holding a class. Again and again we told him and attempted to reassured him that we are not firearm instructors and we're not a part of a gun club. After 2 minutes and 07 seconds or so, he finally let us get back to shooting and he walked out. Within another 3 minutes or so, he returned again and ask us why were we shooting at the targets that we had, and I explained to him these are situational hostage targets, made for scenario type of shooting, and we brought them to make our visit today a little exciting. He looked at the target that I had in my booth where I was stationed and shooting which had a school shooter holding hostage a little boy, and he told me that I am not allowed to have or use that target because it's offensive because it's a picture of child with a fire arm. I thus attempted to reassured him and said no, that is a picture of a young adult not a child but if he has a problem with that I will change it and he said OK. I then showed him the other types I had and when I took down the active school shooter hostage scenario target, and put up a different one (I think it was of a home invader coming through a window or something like that holding a gun), he said he liked that 1 better and did not have a problem with it. He also tried to give me some story, about a previous shooter who came with a target with his wife on it, so that was the reason they are so concerned about targets that have real life photographs of people on it. I attempted to assured him, that he could check the website and company for themselves, it's called Action Target and they make their own range targets for anyone to purchase and they're just for fun and even helps with accuracy so you will not hit the wrong target but only the threat. So then he left and we continued shooting. Within 3 minutes again, a younger darkskin gentleman walked in who said that my target was not allowed in this range, and then I tried to explain to him that the other male worker just told us that this one was better than the other 1 we were shooting but the younger one said something to the extent of, "well I have this T-shirt also and I'm telling you, you can't shoot at that target here." I asked him to please confer with the other older man who is also working who had the same T-shirt (that I guess represents they're the ones who watch and monitor the visitors who shoot), and he brushed me off saying that his word is the final authority and he was not going to confer with anyone else about it. So then we all took down our targets again and put up regular silhouettes. Within 3 minutes again the older west indian man came back in and this time pulled me outside of the range room into the hallway to talk to me (I guess for 1 on 1), this time he was even more annoying and annoyed and tried to scold me about me hosting a class. Again I told him this is not a class I am not a firearm instructor and I am not a part of any club!#SEE NEXT POST FOR LAST ACCOUNT OF THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE#

LAST POST OF THREEI am simply telling my wife's sister how to safely put the firearm down on the table pointing the nozzle down range, and I was simply telling her when she picks it up to fire to look through The nightsights and when she is done firing to put the safety switch back on and aim the gun down range lying The firearm down on the table with the nozzle and muzzle pointing at the target and away from everyone else. That is all I told her. He would not listen to what I was telling him and kept interrupting me ask I tried to explain, not letting me finish explaining. He just kept insisting I was teaching a class and that if I continued I would be breaking the rules. I then got frustrated and said something like, "...listen if it's a problem we will leave... can we be reimbursed?" He thought I was being facetious and responded in discontent towards my question but at that point me and my four companions just had enough, yet my male friend who was with me did not really want to leave because we had already paid, he just told me to let's just finish shooting, but because of all the interruptions, his wife did not even want to shoot anymore. She never even got a chance to go through one magazine, because of all of the distractions and her first time shooting she did not feel comfortable. A total waste of money! None of us enjoyed our time there, and I felt horrible for my friend and his wife who drove over a hour and a half from Staten Island to be with us there in Long Island. Thankfully, I found a much much better location that this ridiculous spot in Uniondale, and its at 130 Freeman Ave, Islip, NY 11751. I worker there named Anthony at South Shore Shooting Range was very friendly yet still strictly professional. At this location in Islip they allow situational target shooting, so you could have your school shooters targets, your home invader target, or any hostage situation target that you have. I will never again go to Uniondale or encourage anyone to ever step foot at that range ever again. Beyond a shadow of a doubt the worst experience all five of us has ever experienced and any range.#END OF FULL ACCOUNT, SEE FIRST TWO POST FROM HAILIEY AND HOLNESS#

PART ONEIn the early afternoon of June 17th 2023, I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any range when I came to this range in Uniondale this day. Previous to this date I had frequented this particular spot a few times, probably around 5 or more visits. But those times I either went by myself or just me and my wife. Those times we went we had little to no problems, we paid for our hour, I think we may have even purchase a basic silhouette or two and enjoyed shooting. We also brought our own targets that we ordered from a company called Action Target. During those times in the years of 2020-2022 we never really had any serious problems when we went and used our own ammunition, our own guns, and usually our own targets. However, on June 17th I decided to invite some more companions to come with us shooting; it was one of my best friends and coworker along with two other females who was with us in a group of a total of 5 of us who paid for the hour and we were placed in a range room together. Not even 3 minutes into us preparing, opening our bags, putting on our holsters and all our safety equipment (for our eyes, ears etc) loading our magazines with training ammo (all our firearms were safe, clear and empty) and setting up our targets, we were already Interrupted by I guess, the workers who are there to watch shooters fire rounds in each stall. One was a older gentleman with what I believe may have been a West Indian accent I think, the first thing he did was walk in and tell all of us to put weapons down before we even got our targets up, then He looked at me and my male friend and spoke to us asking us if we were all together, we both Answered him, 'yes we are and we all paid.' Then he looked almost with a confused glare and stood silent looking at all 5 of us left to right for about 7 to 9 seconds, making us feel awkward as if we did something wrong. So I asked him during the 10th second of silence, if there was a problem, and he said Nothing and asked who had pistols and my friend, my wife and I answered him and I added that the other two females with us are not shooting pistols, we only have rifles for them. I think he then quickly looked at each table where we placed the firearms for each stall and then walked out. So me and my male friend looked at each other, sort of shrugged and continued to load up our weapons and to put up our targets for all 5 of us. Me and my other male friend are experienced shooters, I was with my wife my wife's sister and my male friend's wife, 3 females, 2 in which have never shot a firearm a day in their life. Thus, me, my male friend, and even my wife, were sort of making sure everything was safe and secure especially for the other 2 females who were with us and told them only to aim their guns down range at all times while handling and only put their figure on the trigger when they're going to shoot and to obey our commands at all times when whether they are holding a firearm or not. So we finally set up a target for each of us and we began to shoot following the rules of the range (at least we thought, honestly). So as the two female novice were shooting, me and my friend paid them close attention for their first time and did not fire any rounds while they fired so that we can make sure they were doing things securely. Within another 3-4 minutes, the same man with the West Indian accent returned again and approached me and my male friend, asking us if we are firearm instructors holding a class at the moment. We both chuckled and told him no, we're just gun enthusiast, we are not firearm instructors, we do not hold any sort of license or occupation in that type of field, we just wanted his wife and my wife's sister to shoot for the first time in safety. #SEE PART TWO CONTINUED IN MY NEXT POST#

The place is a dump, the staff is unfriendly, most of the patrons are novices who are unsafe. The plus side is it’s cheap, local, and indoors when the weather is bad. I still only come as a last resort.

Worst gun range ever! Hell, even California gun ranges are far better then this excuse of a dump. The staff are rude as hell (honestly, I think they go above and beyond to try to be as rude and disrespectful as possible) the equipment is dilapidated to all hell, there is no working AC, and the bathrooms are dirty to the extreme, with what looks to be excrement smeared on the walls. I will not be coming back to this toilet if a range when I'm back in town again, avoid this place.

Ist time there. Place was clean. No spent shells in the area I was in. Nice place to practice your shooting skills. Plenty of free parking. Drawback for me is non residents have to pay $22.00 an hour to use the facility. I believe residents pay $10.00 more or less. Would I go back? More likely than not.

Might be the most disgusting and dirt gun range in the United States. NY should be embarrassed to have this facility associated with them in anywayThe man at the front desk has a severe attitude problems and seems to hate everyone around him. He proceeded to yell and lecture my friend bc he went to the bathroom...this idiot should be fired immediately. He can't even be bothered to do his job and check us in. When we arrived he was playing video games and then starts huffing and puffing when he has to do 2 seconds of work.Clown show.

To the moron employee who said "owning a firearm is a privilege.."No, it's not. Find another line of work buddy. Seems like you don't know anything, and barely have two brain cells to rub together.

Old range, with regular lanes and paper targets. You get to shoot for one hour, just obey the rules posted and everything will be fine

First time there, got invited by a friend. Set ups are nice, staff wasn't pushy, some don't like the strictness of the place but safety is a plus for me. I liked it, had a good practice for a first timer.
