Stay away from shysters. A recent request for a roofing job was quoted @ $410/Square but turned out to be $500 with extras like satellite dish removal fee, $400 dumpster fee, $250 steep roof fee. Not only that, the quote was for 3 more squares than needed, 11 versus 8, for the job. They're reluctant to give an itemization. I insisted and was told by their Home Improvement Clown (see below) they normally don't provide one. Demand an accounting of all the costs. Like me, your jaw will drop. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware. I believe in competition. Of four received quotes, Lowes was nearly $2000 above the others. On top of the sketchy practices, their North Utica boy, Jim, is a pushy clown who kept trying to upsell, upsell, upsell and wouldn't take no for an answer. He's also argumentative, was unprepared and generally made it seem like he was doing me a favor by providing a quote. He was impatient, near angry, with questions, took twenty minutes to do some simple math that should have been done prior to the meeting, kept interrupting and, frankly, has no business dealing with people. It's never been my displeasure to encounter someone as nasty and with less customer service skills. I do not tolerate being insulted and talked down to on my property when I'm potentially giving someone my hard earned dollars. I kicked this clown off my lawn. A suggestion: don't call them to do work in the first place.
