Kumon Valley Stream is the best after school program for Math and English. Current instructor Najmee and Maria is great mentor for my kids and I’m happy with results with my children Math and English improvement. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for after school program and academic development and achievement in the school this center. They take care of my kids and I would be happy if they provide coding classes as well. Thanks for offering great service for this community in Valley Stream.

This place is amazing with really great tutors that helped my niece excel in her studies. I couldn't recommend it enough. Don't listen to the bad reviews without at least coming by and talking with the staff. (By the way, Mrs. Maria is the best)

We did not feel welcomed. Had to have a talk with the instructor and after one month we decided to try a different location.

Unfortunately there is no option or dislike button provided, please beware of the owner of this facility. It is unfortunate because the instructors there are wonderful, however everything is governed by Ms. Lee. Recently she decided because my daughter needed redirection she pushed her because she was upset about how she was sitting/rocking in a chair. When I arrived to inquire as to why she had acted inappropriately she was dismissive and unapologetic. I decided to call the police to have a report made against her, to further I am now seeking counsel as I would like to request a refund and transfer to a new facility. I believe she is racist/biased with the children and should have no place within the facility since she cannot conduct herself appropriately with the children. It's bad enough you cannot communicate effectively with her due to the language barrier. An qualified on-site manager should replace her and there should be BETTER standards with the qualifications so the parents feel secure.

If I could give a 0 I would....the owner of this location MRS. LEE is a child abuser. My 12 year old niece was rocking in her seat and instead of asking her to stop she decided to physically stop her by pushing her. The cops naturally had to be called to the location to diffuse the situation once my niece called my sister. We will be pressing charges against her! If you want to ensure that your children are not physically touched by adults when they come to learn do NOT send them to this location. As the owner she has no decorum or education of how to deal with children!

Glad this place survived COVID. They had Zoom classes, which made it work. I used to go here as a student, and now I am a parent. There's something to be said about a methodology that has stood the test of time, and giving sufficient quantity of practice (school curriculum progresses too fast without enough practice in my opinion). My child's handwriting improved greatly with Kumon instruction, and I like that they use old school methods, without apps that gamify everything (not to mention, resulting in too much screen time).

You are better off with a tutor like this place is so bad and they give you so much work for you to do at home like I already have regular school like give me a break. Plus their bathroom is so dirty and they cant even pay for water in their bathroom. When they make you come to kumon when theres no schools gives me a mental breakdown and the people there are rude af and the women is so annoying be like dont help her let her figure it out like my guy isnt the whole point of this for HELP like i was about to curse the woman out. If I could give it 0 stars I really would.

If you bring your child to Kumon, that child learns STRONG foundations of either Math and or Reading (whichever or both that you choose to enroll in)Kumon BUILDS a strong knowledge base and strengthens the skills needed from the beginning to move forward in more difficult material in Math and or Reading. It may not be in step with what the student is learning in their school, but little by little with the practice that Kumon offers 2 or 3 times a week, that student WILL build a strong basis where they can build on more and more skills. It works it's magic. It's like a good diet. Slow and steady gets you there strong and confident.
