Today I had a really bad customer experience at the Valley Stream, Webster FC. I had a fraudulent activity on my debit card and was told by the banks Fraud Department to get a replacement card at the Financial Center. The bank teller Seluck Donmez was very helpful since he is new, (I assumed) he asked Deanna Widmer for assistance. Mrs. Widmer review my account with her colleague Theresa Smith Jausenth, and told the teller not to give me a card. When I asked, why, she responded I don't have much money in the account and there is a $10.00 fee. As a former employee, and to my knowledge the $10.00 fee is only charged when cards are lost not for fraud. When I informed my Widmer I was a past employee and felt discriminated against. She rush to the back officer to called the Bank Manger regarding the situations . After 20 mins of waiting she informed me the card will be issued and that it was an exception. I felt Ms. Widmer actions was very racist and only provided the proper service ,since I was a former employer and informed her this issues will be reported. Note to Deanna Widmer- BE NICE TO ALL CUSTOMER BLACK OR WHITE!.

The worst bank I've ever been into. Don't ever go to this bank, please remember you were warned. Very incompetent staff especially. Management is terrible and the staff are just like cows grazing in a pasture. It took over an over to get these idiots to fill out a change of address form. Very very unprofessional. They think the own the bank. Don't ever go to this branch, save your time.

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Karin . Opened up my business account with her last month. Came in today as well 30 mins prior to close and there was already a long line. She wasn't flustered or anything. Very professional and attentive to each and every customer. ?

I have banked at this location my whole life. Since Sterling National Bank took over a couple of years ago there has been a number of problems. They have closed branches, reduced the number of available bankers, and have generally made banking in person a difficult process. I understand the world wants everyone to do everything via a machine or digitally. I would like to continue doing my banking in person. I suggest you put your money elsewhere.

The tellers are pleasant , the service is slow but the customers are mostly old people or business owners. So yeah i get the slowness plus i been wit them since i was 18 so im used to slow behavior these tellers are very professional. Shout out to toni my fav teller. Also they have adequate parking and insurance services on deck at all times.

Terrible experience. been a month now since opening my account. running after them daily to enable online banking, ACH, and online statements. in which I was a clear i must have upon opening my account. employees seem to be at lunch or on vacation all the time. slow email response (if any), almost never available to speak on phone. and when they do, they promise to get back to you to resolve the issue, only to find myself nowhere, a full month of time-wasted and aggravation.

Stupid is stupid does sure fits this bank especially the one located at 4608 Francis Lewis Boulevard; this bank is utterly useless; I used the ATM and unlike other banks this bank only gives $20s so if you get a large amount like I did; $840; I went to the teller and told them I would like to exchange the small bills for $100 bills they refused; so expect them to take your ATM fee and only give you $20s and refuse to exchange for larger bills; I will take my business to other banks like Citibank or Chase and I suggest others to too; oh yeah and they do not give cash advances; I will relay this to my family as will and have them close their accounts at Sterling National Bank; also TD Bank does much better business than the as well.

I highly do NOT recommend this bank. I have tried numerous times to transfer funds, over the phone between accounts, with NO luck at all. I made the mistake of believing that someone would have fixed this telephone service issue over the past 6-8 months. I question the banks integrity. If they can't run a working automated telephone system with account and pin numbers, then how can they operate on a daily basis. I've been a customer of Astoria Federal for many years. I plan to IMMEDIATELY withdraw all my funds and CLOSE all accounts as soon as possible. This bank is too incompetent to be trusted with your money.
