Booked a vehicle online months ago. Communication emails kept me updated confirming my rental. When I picked up my rental I was handed the keys and my receipt and shown my vechicle. No signing papers after paper. I vehicle was very new and just what I ordered. Couldn't of asked for a better process.

I made a reservation online and went to pick up my rental at the time I requested. Patrick looks up my reservation, goes outback and then comes back out front, slides my license and credit card over and states that they aren’t renting out anymore cars today. Absolutely horrible customer service and I will never go back.
I went to Enterprise and within 25 minutes I left with a vehicle. If you are in the Broome County area don’t even bother with Hertz.

Absolutely the worst! If I could give this branch a zero I would! I had gone in to pick up the keys for my husband’s rental, which I have done before. My husband was calling on the phone at the same time I was there. The incredibly rude woman working there, I didn't get her name, picked up the phone and hung up. So I called my husband back on my cell. He is a president circle member. He has been renting from this branch for over 10 years. The incredibly rude woman kept speaking over my husband, who was on speaker, she wouldn’t listen to anything he said. When I spoke she spoke over me as well. She stated the reservation was for 4pm and he didn’t come for the car. ( I arrived at 4:30). I explained we only have one car and I work for the school system and all buses were an hour late so there wasn’t time to get him prior to the office closing at 5pm, so that’s why I was there; she stated “not my problem”. I offered to drive home and get my husband so he could get the rental, which he needs to go back to the airport to go back to work in FL; however, we would not be back until after 5pm and could she wait? She said no.
I would like to add that the other person there, George, was also incredibly rude.
At some point, a woman threatened to call regional manager. I told to go ahead call your regional manager. I would love to tell them how I was being treated, how she had spoken over my husband and me, and how she yelling at me. She stated that she would make sure my husband never rented from them again. She then said she wasn’t calling the regional manager but if I didn’t leave she would be calling the police. I’ve never Treated this way by anyone. Absolutely the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.

Just so everyone knows, if you forget to fill the tank upon return (in my case, my elderly father didn’t know to) that charge you $10 A GALLON. Crooks.
You’ll also have to jump through hoops just to talk to a person on the phone and the office was dirty and disorganized. Seek help elsewhere.

Awful experience with Hertz -Vestal !!!!!!!!!
The Hertz branch at 2520 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, NY 13760 has unfriendly customer service, particularly their manager. Prices at pickup are often double what is shown in your confirmed online reservation through the Hertz app. They removes your discount code without asking or informing you, and add insurance or other extras you did not select — again without your consent. In the end, you don’t get the rental you booked; you get what they decides to give you.
I have been a loyal Hertz customer for many years, traveling frequently as a state employee and renting from them regularly. However, after all this experience, I will no longer be using Hertz. For my May 24–28 trip, I needed a minivan, but Hertz was already booked, so I went with Enterprise for the first time. Looking back, I regret not choosing ENTERPRISE sooner — their customer service was far more friendly and their staff genuinely caring. The contrast could not have been clearer.
Do not use Hertz in Vestal — go to ENTERPRISE instead, where you are truly appreciated and cared for.

Above and Beyond – We Had A Great Experience With Ellen
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Ellen at Hertz. She truly went above and beyond to assist me and my girlfriend with a long-term rental, making the process feel smooth, simple, and easy.
Ellen was sweet, professional, and incredibly accommodating. She stayed past her scheduled hours just to make sure everything was squared away for us—not rushing, not cutting corners, making sure we were taken care of.
I highly recommend working with Ellen. She has been incredible and is a huge asset to Hertz. Thanks to her, we’ll absolutely be coming back for future rentals.

Rented from this location because I needed a vehicle with mine being down. Went through insurance with everything. Gave them a $50 deposit thinking that I would get the full deposit back but no. I only got around $17 back which they told me that’s what I paid out of pocket when I paid them the $50. Will stay away from this company for renting from now on
