I have had nothing but great experiences with Viking Sales both times I've purchased from them. I've been restoring our historic windows that were so heavily coated in paint they no longer functioned properly. So far I have used their linseed oil wood putty, paint, glazing, plain oil, and shellac flakes. They are knowledgeable about window restoration processes and provide high-quality, chemical-free products that are good for both the environment and people to use. My windows look fantastic so far and I feel confident the repairs and linseed products will last many years to come. The photos are a bit out of order but you get the idea. I already owned a Speedheater Cobra which is how I stripped the windows.

Viking Sales sells the Silent Paint Remover, which is a copied knockoff of the original Speedheater from Sweden. It is not UL listed like the Speedheater, and it has inferior construction and build quality. I know, because I made the mistake of buying one. Do your research online and you will find that the Silent Paint Removers have a MAJOR problem with the handle coming off the rest of the unit and the wires subsequently shorting out. I had to rig mine with stainless steel braided wiring looped through the handle multiple times to prevent this coming apart. I also had to rewire the whole thing myself. Viking Sales will gladly sell you a replacement for $159 + $25 shipping, but once you get it fixed, you'll still have to rig it up so the new one doesn't fall off. Avoid at all costs. Also, their customer service is atrocious. Soren is difficult to understand and his emails are nearly unreadable. The lady (don't know her name) is incredibly rude and defensive. She lied to me by saying the 2 products were the exact same and when I pushed back, she hung up on me. She tried blaming the handle quality issue on me, saying the product was overheating and that I was leaving it in one spot for too long, which was not true- I know how I used it. The issue is a design flaw- when they copied the Speedheater design, they used a different grooved handle to save money. When the unit gets hot (which it is supposed to do) the cheaper plastic handle they use gets soft and slips out of the metal grooves.

They give you personal attention. I had difficulty matching the color I wanted for a bathroom. They helped mix 2 colors to get the color I wanted. They are very knowledgeable with advising on the right products for the different materials in my home.

I cannot believe how bad the customer service is. I have bought 9 Silent paint removers and lots of tools for various projects from Viking sales and the quality is awful. I have called and emailed them to say how disappointed I am and I have gotten no response. The engineering and assembly is terrible. After numerous failures of bulbs, then of thermostats and switches, we finally took 2 of them apart. We discovered many of the spade type electrical connectors were loose and arcing, which destroyed the switches, wires, and bulbs. Trying to get parts from them was impossible, and they dont list the bulbs for the small heater on the website. We were able to find the thermostats and switches from the distributor, so we will rebuild them ourselves and ensure proper connections . I would never do business with them for anything
