The best vet in the Bronx by a large margin. I’ve been taking my dog and cats there for years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Dr. Katz is extremely knowledgeable and kind.

Just left Pelham Animal Hospital with my 70lb Pitbull who needed stitches. The entire staff was so kind, informative, and fairly priced all the services. I cannot thank them enough for taking us so last minute this morning and making me feel at peace leaving him behind to get this procedure. I have found our forever vet, so grateful to have people care for my fury friend with so much compassion. Definitely recommending this staff to everyone.

My dog Teddy Bear was taken care of by Dr. Katz from 8 weeks old until 13 1/2 years old. I consider Dr. Katz and his compassionate staff extended family. Teddy struggled with health complications for many years and Dr. Katz was always knowledgeable and truthful about what I would expect from certain treatments and what not to expect. During the last few months of Teddy’s life I brought him to a peaceful environment where he saw another vet and I remained in touch with Dr. Katz who advised me about all the recommendations this far distanced vet suggested. Eventually I came back to Pelham for Teddy to be around familiar faces, but his health deteriorated quickly. Dr. Katz and his staff understood the struggle I had been making until the day I knew my Teddy Bear wasn’t able to let go on his own. I thank Dr. Katz and staff for all their support and patience with Teddy and me for the past 13 1/2 years. The love and care Dr. Katz and staff gave Teddy will remain in my heart forever.

I have been going to Dr. Katz for over 20 years. My dogs are like my children and Dr. Katz is the only veterinarian I would entrust with their care. His genuine concern for their health and well being is unwavering. Recently, my 8 year old beagle came down with a very rare disease called IMHA, a disease which most dogs don’t survive. Dr Katz jumped into action and helped my little girl survive this deadly disease. She is now on the mend and I am blessed to have more time with her. I can’t say enough great things about this amazing veterinarian. Thank you Dr. Katz for saving my Daisy’s life! You are truly the best and I am shouting it from the rooftops!!

I’ve been using Dr.Katz for some time however two things have made me reconsider. First my elderly cat got sick and instead giving me antibiotics to take home he didn’t do that until after I had to come back and he did a pointless chest x-ray leaving me a big bill. Next we took my mothers cat to be spayed. She’s a wild cat and only really likes my mother. They called us to pick her up early the same day and basically reprimanded us on her behavior. The doctor said he was taking all precautions not to have to have her come back and that if she ever did she’d need to be sedated. The assistant made a point not very nicely that she had to wear gloves. I know the cat is difficult but I felt they were unprofessional as that’s their job.

I wish I could give 0 or no starts. I took my kitten here a month ago. The vet told me she had nothing after he “did an x ray” so he sent me home. That night I had to take her to the emergency room, where they actually did an X-ray that showed she had pneumonia. She passed away that day. I feel awful for waiting time taking her there and believing the vet and his mal practice. I now doubt he even did the x ray and blood work he charged me for. But now nothing or no one is gonna return me my luna

Dr. Katz saved my one year old cat's life and now he has eight more lives left. All joking aside, I rushed my cat to a 24 hour emergency veterinarian hospital at 1 o'clock in the morning since Dr. Katz at Pelham animal Hospital was closed and they misdiagnosed my cat's ailment only for me to endure 3 panic filled days watching my cat deteriorate in extreme distress.Dr. Katz identified the problem almost immediately and performed emergency surgery to remove what he discovered which turned out to be pieces of a foam rubber child's play mat which my cat had eaten away some of the edges and swallowed them and they were stuck in his small intestine. We have since thrown out the mat and 'cat-proofed our home as we have two other young felines. Dr. Katz is our regular veterinarian and he literally held our hand and our cats paw throughout this ordeal and the baby boy is recovering at home now lively, earnest, vibrant, eating and drinking and using his litter box so we are so relieved.Might I add, this surgery was in excess of two or 2 1/2 hours and I could tell Dr. Katz did not mind whatever time it was, but he finished at about 10 PM and we are grateful for his time and care and obviously staying in the clinic all night to perform the surgery. The staff took such great care of our cat; keeping in communication, following up, emailing and more phone calls, all very reassuring and comfortingThank you Dr. Katz and all the staff at Pelham Animal Hospital.

I had to move from Delaware to New York this year and have been looking for a new vet. The staff is very friendly, understanding. I had to delay an appointment because of an insurance issue with me and my kitty. They weren’t mad or anything and they happily rescheduled. I went back and had many questions for them during my appointment and Dr. Katz was happy to answer and of my questions and concerns about my kitty.
