Must take class early or only a lift class. It’s too damp- too wet. Needs better ac and frankly can be unsafe if gets too hot.

Great workout that is exactly like the Barry’s workout you get in the city. With limited options in the Hampton, this is your best best to get a great workout.Downsides:-really bad acoustics-no changing room-50 dollars a head with no water included (ridiculous price gouging going on here)-not the same Barry’s experience. (Aka not that red room feel. Tons of light etc)

I get it, you want me to purchase Barry’s water or bring my own with me, but at $50 bucks a class, there’s gotta at least be a water fountain!

There were only 6 out of 24 people in the class, so that should have been the first indicator that this wouldn't meet any expectations. I am a member at Orangetheory, F45, and Ripped, so I was super excited to finally try Barry's. Now that I've tried it, I can assuredly say your money is absolutely best spent at any other class. For $40, you get: 1) unfriendly service. Walked in as newbies, the woman behind the desk didn't acknowledge us (and there was no one else in there). We went up and gave our names, and she checked us in without saying anything (wouldn't the computer say we were first timers?). 2) NO WATER. I cannot get over how insane this is. Of course, I brought my own water, but I asked the trainer where I'd be able to refill it. They don't have a water fountain or bottle filler. You have to pay to buy their brand of bottled tap water. 3) extremely hot. There appeared to be a dozen fans in the workout area, but not one was turned on. On a hot summer day, at that. This is extra nuts added to the fact that they expect you to not drink any water. 4) There's no cell service. In the Hamptons this is expected, so I asked the front desk how to log in to their guest wifi. The front desk gave me the password to connect, but the guest wifi doesn't actually work, so it's useless. I was unable to use my heart rate monitor because of this. 5) no wipes. I'm supposed to trust the unfriendly people to clean sufficiently between classes? I'd appreciate wipes given the fact everyone is sweating profusely since the fans aren't on... Gross. 6) No modifications. I'm not a beginner so I managed fine, but if you are, consider yourself not welcomed here. They seem to be trying to appeal to the uber-fit crowd. This marketing model is pretty dated, and you wouldn't find it at any other newer workout class (which pride themselves on inclusivity, as they should). 7) speaking of "dated," all the equipment is old. Your feet get hot because you can feel the treadmill gears underneath you as you run. The mats are old, gross, and slippery. Dumbbells were fine. 8) the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1, is because the trainer was motivating and encouraging. But he made sure to point out that he's from a NYC gym, not a full time trainer at the Wainscot location. Can't imagine why.. I gave Barry's another shot and tried the Southampton location - it was WAY friendlier and cleaner. I'll only ever go back to that location. I will never go back to Wainscott.

My first time ever doing Barry's Bootcamp was at this spot over Memorial Day Weekend. The Workout: Tough, but fun. We literally worked every part of our body and I was sore for like 4 days after. The treadmill parts were especially grueling because, as a beginner, I was sandwiched in between people running on like 10.0 speed and I'm barely breathing trying to run on 7.0. I loved how the music was blasting and the lights were dim, so that we could suffer without being heard or seen by anyone else. The instructor, Josey, was great. He was upbeat and his instructions were very clear. I didn't know how he would pull off telling two groups of people two different sets of instructions, but he pulled it off! The Facility: Parking is a mad house. You should come maybe 10 minutes before the class so you can get all the spaces that the people from the class before you vacate. If you come too early, you won't find any parking. The gym itself is small and no frills. They have towels and water bottles, but I didn't see a water machine to refill your own water. Also they provide little cubbies in the main workout room so you won't have to worry about your stuff. My suggestion: For beginners, you should start on the floor and pick a spot in the middle row so you can see all the pros in front of you but also not feel pressure to be perfect. You'll also get a treadmill by the front door so you can go out and get a new towel (or air) without walking past everyone. All in all, I can't wait to do Barry's again and this location in particular was great.

Premier exercise joint in Wainscott. Best part is proximity to Spanish deli couple of doors over for coffee and egg sandwiches!
