My mother and father shared a room at Eastside for a number of years. Their room was cozy and comfortable and they were very happy and content. My mother’s fear was that they would kick her out. The food was delicious and at that time we girls could share meals with them. The staff was loving and kind. My mother was always grateful that someone kissed them good night each bedtime. The staff became like family, and we enjoyed many outings with them. We couldn’t have wished for a better last home for them. My dad passed on April 5, 2009 at 94. Mother passed on June 2009. We will always be thankful for the care they received while residents.❤️

As a former employee there were always issues I was trying to address to my manager. (Kelly and Wade) I was a dietary aid and worked in the kitchen and had brought up many issues. With employee safety as well as residents safety. However none of the issues has ever been resolved. As I care about the residents' well being I am now addressing these issues with you.some of the issues that i was trying to address was:1) Washing your hands and changing your gloves when going from handling dirty dishes to going to work on the clean dish side and staff not changing their gloves for washing their hands before handling clean dishes.2) The ceiling leaks around the kitchen near the oven along with the dishwasher room.3) When working the tray line and setting drinks/deserts on the trays there are multiple issues.--- Staff not wearing gloves--- Hot water or Hot Coffee not being hot--- Prepared/Special drinks that contain dairy/milk reaching room temp or warmer--- Not having the required food for the residents pertaining to their dietary needs. (Nectar/Honey thick drinks, Special utensils or cups)4) Multiple staff or employees walking through the kitchen with no hair nets5) Staff allowing there dog to wander the building and letting their dog walk around in the kitchen6) Bleach being used in the kitchenThese issues I have tried to bring up to the manager team many times but would never seem to be addressed. I have also included pictures to show some clarify some of my concerns for the residents' safety.

It's not a nursing home I would recommend. The nursing home needs improvement. It definitely needs a cleaning staff it isn't a clean environment at all. It's pretty disgusting how the day staff leave the facility. More than likely in an effort to rush and get the residents up and ready to do different things. I don't know though. That's me being fair with my thought process. The residents who live there deserve a better environment. For some reason it is ridiculously hot inside the building in the units. The residents complain of the exhausting heat. The windows aren't opened. It's possible that it's for safety reasons but even so the heat needs to be turned down dramatically. Extreme heat conditions breed bacteria and infections as well as contribute to dehydration. The nursing home needs to invest in more staff as they are short staffed daily. Less staff means poorer care for the residents. There are typically 2 CNA to care for 40 residents and 1 nurse to distribute medications. Night shift has 1 staff typically for all 40 residents.

My father is in here right now . The facility is broken down, only one elevator etc room is terrible, dementia patients, bad cutlery, cheap cheap cheap linens and pillows worse than a prison. I went to visit him- he is an actual national hero - and they had him sitting in his underwear. The staff were pretty good but this place is not very nice at all it's very very bad. Not a good place for anyone. This is very very sorry and low class. Nurses were doing their best but it's worse than a motel 6. I am trying to get him out of this dump.

My brother was a resident at Eastside for almost a year. He had been in 3 other nursing/rehab homes in the last 2 years, and this was the one he liked. Our personal experience with staff was favorable. There were times I had to call the nurses desk, and they were always kind and helpful. His room was kept clean. The food was very good. They were caring and helpful. As a unit they are very careful about protecting their wards. I would recommend them.

The staff at Eastside are all heart. I have always found them to be loving and caring and very professional. While you might find some shortcomings with the building/equipment, overall it is a pleasant environment. My mom always tells us she "loves" it there. I have profound gratitude for the work they do around the clock.
