One of the most equipped Humane Society in our area that I know ofThe only problem is is as all of them they need support. People love the fur babies but sometimes 4 some reason they can't take care of them. Or, there's many feral cats that need care & homes. Please be generous & give them a donation. Help the helpless ????

Do not adopt from here. They lie to adopters. Begging all of the people who adopt from here to ask questions. They will lie about bite history and behavior because they do not understand what they are doing. They don’t know what a vaccine is. The staff is rude and untrained. ASK QUESTIONS PEOPLE!!!!!!

This shelter will waste you’re time adopting a pet, I inquired about one of the animals and bonded and spent time with the animal 2 times with 3 appointments set up with one coming up to hopefully be the last visit at the shelter before taking said animal home, I received a call from ( Kelly ) an extremely unprofessional care taker at this facility that has her own opinions on the animals, and has certain feelings towards animals and it’s very apparent they rather keep the animals in the shelter then give them to a good home, thank you Warwick valley humane society for breaking my heart but none the less wasting my time..

I had to make the toughest decision of my life and give up my cat of over 8 years. It was not easy to do. We came to this shelter for help at first, several months ago, and were given a contact for a behavior specialist and tried multiple times to get in touch with them with no luck. It then came down to deciding whether to lose our home or give her up, because she wasn't using the box like she should. Because of various hardships, such as my own medical struggles that have popped up starting last year, losing jobs for months on end, we figured a no kill shelter would be the best bet. I even asked to keep informed and in contact should my pet have to be put down, and was assured they'd let me know and at least be there, but was reassured they don't really euthenize. Today was a week, we called like we were supposed to, and come to find out that the cat was already put down. We were told rather harshly, and then the woman hung up in our faces. I'm devastated. I wish this shelter would have given us some notice, seeing as we were there multiple different times trying to get something to work to help her stay with us, and then having to make the hard decision to give her up so she might have a better chance at getting the care she needed. I'm quite upset at being led on, I'm quite upset at being betrayed at this not being a no kill shelter like it says online. I wish I would have had the money to take her to the vet, and have had them put her down with me in the room, so that she could have been with the people she knew. The people she loved. Thank you. I will not be adopting, recommending, donating, or anything for this shelter again. I don't know who this woman was that spoke to us over the phone, but I brought my cat here because I was advised they do so much for animals and are compassionate. We did not see an ounce of compassion. We saw fake masks, and now I am grieving the death of my Missy when I wanted her to be able to get the help she needed but I couldn't give.

My friend found/saved a little dog that was in bad shape . She cleaned it up and brought it to the shelter to wait until she could legally adopt it . They just didn't care and gave the dog to someone else . That's what my friend gets for doing the right thing . The shelter did not care . Very sad as my friend is devastated ! Shame on this shelter for doing this !

why are there cats who have not been vaccinated? why are some cats NEVER promoted on social media? why are some cats listed as sick (cannot live with other cats, if adopted), but can wander around the other shelter cats? why are some cats listed as mean ? why was there a nasty description of a cat on a cage? why are there not intake forms for each and every animal that comes through the door? ... all valid; non accusatory questions. If the shelter manager can't handle these questions, she has no business running a shelter. I hope people will keep asking the questions and hold this shelter accountable for the well being of those animals, including promoting them and providing vaccinations and other medical care.last night i counted. i searched their Facebook page and counted how many posts they did about the 11 remaining cats who have been waiting for years. Shelby was posted twice in four years (one was a Real Cats post they shared.) Rhea and Erina: once in 2019, and once this May. BK? twice since Jan 2020. Gillian? Never until this year after Real Cats started helping, then only twice. Pollyanna? there four years, posted once (this May.)they put out a post slandering the only person who single handedly got 25 cats adopted in 4 months and then deleted the 14 comments defending that person and calling them out on their failures. what are they trying to hide? sadly, their own egos are more important than the poor cats, many of whom have lived most of their short lives in cages because they are too apathetic to actually try to get them adopted. poor Cricket died because they never got her vaccinated. DISGUSTING!
