Such a great experience. The owner is charismatic and I believe stopped at every table. I lived in Alaska for 7 years and I've eaten a lot over Halibut. The special was Halibut w/ a champagne caviar sauce and it was in the top two I've had the pleasure to enjoy in the lower 48. The Truffle grilled cheese was awesome. The duck was cooked perfectly. The steak fritz was on point. The soup dujour was cream of cauliflower and was just perfect on the pallet. We will definitely be back for the aged steaks and more.

The place is super cute, the staff is professional and friendly, but what is going on in the kitchen? A friend and I dined on a Saturday evening and experienced some unfortunate misfires. After a very good French onion soup, we ordered the little neck clams and some Brussels sprouts. The clams were nicely cooked — tender and of a good size, in a cream broth studded with shards of chorizo that overpowered the dish and that might best be avoided themselves. Sprinkled throughout were peas which to all appearances were either reconstituted dried peas, or had been cooked so early in the day they had become hardened. Not a very pleasant dish. The Brussels sprouts with halloumi were mot special, lacking any crispy edges and crying for a little acidity.Next up was the fried artichokes with saffron aioli, which came out as flat, heavily battered, greasy, hard, undercooked, fibrous triangular wedges that were tasteless and inedible. Was no one in the kitchen tasting anything? We sent the artichokes back.A steak tartare was good, which I ordered with French fries, but which appeared with oily, slightly undercooked cubes of potatoes the restaurant calls “potato poppers”. What’s up with those, kitchen? What bistro offering dry-aged steaks can’t serve crispy fries? Not only did our server fail to inform us that the restaurant, which has steak frites on the menu, has no actual French fries, but the potato poppers were no better than mediocre diner breakfast potatoes, missing the requisite crispy exterior and fluffy interior. Soggy sautéed potatoes are no substitute. For the prices charged, all these items should have been exemplary. The chef was either asleep or on vacation but clearly no one in the kitchen was showering love on the food last night. We skipped dessert.

I have a difficult time when eating out as I am very particular and don't really eat meat. Chef Ari has several vegetarian and vegan options and is an excellent chef. I have never been disappointed, and my husband absolutely loves it here.

Food is always delicious with many choices for all dietary needs whether you're going all in for French food that evening or want grilled fish. Service is attentive & husband & wife owners Ari & Liz are great hosts. One of our favorites!

The specials on the menu were wonderful...the scallops should always be ordered when available...the sauce was exceptional...The paella was good but not extraordinary...but the affigoto was the best I ever had...

Chef Arie never disappoints. Every dish we tried was delectable. The wine list was good and well priced. Service was very personal and attentive. This is always one of our favourites and a foodie's delight.

We had to wait a bit in the entryway to be seated. The bar, which is small, was full. Once seated, the service was prompt and attentive. The food was inventive. I ordered barbecued duck wings as an appetizer, which were delicious. The main course for me was hake as fish of the day. It also was delicious. My wife and daughter equally enjoyed their selections, a zuchini pasta and lamb burger sliders. Everything was hot and fresh. I have two complaints. The wine list was quite expensive. $25.00 for a glass of chardonnay is bit much when a full bottle of a decent white wine costs no more. Also, the piped ini music was terrible. The cuisine and prices say fine dining, but the banging music says singles bar.

Only discovered Bistro Ete because of Long Island Restaurant Week, but so glad I did! Food was fantastic (simple mixed green salad was best I've had in forever and braised short rib pappadelle was incredible!) Server was great, too!

Love this restaurant! Took long enough for being a local on the east end of Long Island to get here. My wife and I were warmly greeted by Jake! A Very nice young fellow. We both started with the French onion soup which is the best I've ever had! Especially on such a cold winter night. Brrr!! After the soup we ventured onto our main course in which we shared...The duck paella! Quack! Who knew! We've Never heard of a duck paella before, until coming here. A hearty, flavorful, perfectly balanced dish. This establishment did not miss a beat. Definitely worth a bite! Quack!

Stopped in here with my SIL and nieces last week. Understated elegant atmosphere, fantastic service, great wine menu and the food was delicious. Sometimes it's hard to find a restaurant that's elevated without being pretentious-Bistro Ete was an unsuspected gem and really makes you feel at home. Will absolutely be back with my husband and friends!

Restaurant, food, staff, owner and family, words can't describe how perfect it all is here! Arguably best restaurant on the island!

Bistro Ete is, for the most part, it. From the diuretically rich small plates to the decadently heatonistic habanero ice cream, this restaurant has all the subtlety of a truffle pig that has fallen in love with its own reflection. The 50 dollar French soup, notwithstanding the Midas touch, was phantasmagorically delicious. The cocktails, though a distant memory after the 7-plate gavage, left something to be desired. Attractive staff.
