Rude is an understatement with these people. Simple questions are not ok and don’t even think of asking about something they promised you. I like to drive by and watch the place crumble it makes me happy. Just look at the comments and see how they avoid responsibility at every corner. The best thing I ever did was get banned from the shop for asking a question and then being lied to about the contents of the contract. Fragile egos and over priced garbage is all you get here.

I have had the WORST experience with Johns Auto. To begin, they put a GPS tracker in my car without my knowledge or permission (it was not in my contract). A lawyer was contacted and in all 50 states it is ILLEGAL to use a GPS tracker in someone's car without their knowledge and is considered stalking under NYS law. I would have never bought the car if I would have known they would be tracking me. When it was found the police were called and they stated they had never seen a tracker like the one this place of business used. No where on the tracker did it say “John's Auto”. When I called his daughter then admitted that I had an ‘old’ contract and that it was put in my car when someone else was going to come buy it. The tracker should have been removed or I should have been given the ‘correct’ contract. When having this phone call John's daughter was extremely rude and defensive. At the end of this phone call I told her that going forward (I would give my in-laws money to make my payment since I was unable to get there during their business hours) I was the only one to be communicated with about this car since I am the one on the contract and my bank will be sending checks monthly. Once the car was paid off John's daughter gave my lien release paperwork to my mother In-law. When called to ask why I was not called about it I was again met with attitude and poor customer service. I have never raised my voice until the end of our last phone call because I was unable to get a word in since she was berating me about how rude I had been. I will never be buying another car or recommending this place to anyone. I have all the proof to back up my above claims, I will be submitting a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General's office.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Do not buy a vehicle from these people. Believe ALL the reviews you see here! They sold me a lemon transmission went within 31 days. When you call, the daughter is extremely rude and bad for business, demanding I bring the car for repairs and a tow that I would need to cover. They overcharged for the down at $2,500 because they KNEW the car would break down so they could profit. Policy is 10 days no payment automatic repo. I’m not paying another dime for this garbage that I have to add a gallon of transmission fluid to just to drive 10 miles before it’s empty. They want you to bring it to them to repair so they can cover up the problem. I went to my own mechanic he said they were aware of the transmission and tried to quick fix it and that’s why it was pouring out transmission fluid. I have the paperwork. The entire transmission needs to be replaced. It’s a $1,200 job to repair that extensive leak. Went to another mechanic after to verify 1st mechanic and they both diagnosed the SAME thing. I explained to the daughter I had just had twins and one was in NICU and I needed a reliable car to get back and fourth to Rochester. She PROMISED me the car was good and I’d have no issues. She took advantage of a single mother in need of a good car and that is DISGUSTING. I had to take medical transport back and fourth for MONTHS, before saving for a new car. I called them THREE time to tell them to come and get their car off my property!!! No one answers my name on the caller ID. They want to FORCE customers to keep their vehicles so they can charge them additional! Good luck! That car hasn’t been registered or insured in OVER a month now. COME AND GET YOUR VEHICLE OFF MY PROPERTY. I’m not paying another dime! I put OVER $6,300 in that car with down, repairs, transmission fluid, and payments! They need to be SHUT DOWN! Watch the daughter get on here LYING! I see she does that on every review. She’s running that business into the ground! Anyone with a good review is fake review. Believe the low rated ones! My only regret is not looking at the Google reviews before going there! All I was thinking about was getting into a car for my baby’s needs fast! Biggest mistake was going there! There is no way this car passed inspection! They do the stickers themselves is the problem! Just huge scam artists! One mechanic literally refused to touch it due to liability and turned me away! That’s how bad off the car was! It’s a shame! Every dealer/mechanic around here knew about them! They said oh no! You got a car there?! That spoke VOLUMES!! RUN!!!!

This place is a huge scam if you don't wanna ruin your credit or end up with a car that'll only run 5 months don't get it from johns my engine blew 5 months after having my vehicle I still tried to work out making payment but I was unable to keep the insurance on it because I had to add a new vehicle which brought my total to nearly 600 a month for insurance called them to try and work it out with them so I can still make my payments all they said is to drop it off which I am unable to the car doesn't even run they said they tried working with me but didn't make a attempt this place is a huge red flag please avoid them before you end up like me
[They claimed they tried working with me which was not true I am still willing to make my payments they just wanted to make a couple grand cob it up again and sell it to the next sucker if you see a 2009 hyundai sonta Grey sitting down there don't get it ]

I tried reaching out and my number is unfortunately blocked tried reaching out to john on Facebook he ignored my messges these guys have no intent on working with me nor anyone for that mater and the lies from the front desk women are absolutely insane we didn't swear or cuss them out in anyway in fact she exstemly rude to us and unprofessional

We just got our vehicle from them. They are a legit buy here and pay here and don’t lie about that like other places. Hannah was great when progressive was giving us a hard time and we were able to get different insurance! Saved a frustrating moment. Both John and Hannah are great!!

Actually I would of given him a zero, if it were an option. He ruined my vehicle . I had to pay double to fix his mistakes. Never bring your vehicle to John's.

If I could I would rate zero stars I would suggest never buying a car from here let alone letting them work on your car. Sold my dad a truck with a frame that was horriable. As well as had the wrong catalytic converter how they even managed to pass it on inspection I dont know. Dont trust them their just out to screw you.
