“The Plaza at Salmon Run is one of the most convenient shopping destinations in the Watertown area and has become a regular stop for many Canadians crossing the border. The biggest advantage of this plaza is the sheer variety of stores located in one place. Whether you are shopping for clothing, electronics, household goods, groceries, sporting equipment, or simply looking for a place to grab a meal, there is a good chance you will find what you need without having to drive all over town.
What I appreciate most is the convenience. The plaza is easy to access, parking is plentiful, and the layout makes it relatively simple to move between stores. For many visitors, especially those coming from Ontario, it offers access to retailers, products, and pricing that are sometimes difficult to find at home. The selection is generally excellent, and the area remains one of the better shopping hubs in Northern New York.
The plaza is also well maintained. The grounds are clean, the businesses are generally well kept, and there is a good mix of national retailers and restaurants. It is easy to spend several hours there without realizing how much time has passed, especially if you are making a day trip out of your visit.
That said, the plaza can become extremely busy, particularly on weekends, holidays, and during major sales events. Traffic around the entrances can be frustrating, and finding a parking spot near your preferred store is not always easy during peak times. In recent years, prices have also increased, and some of the savings that once made cross-border shopping a no-brainer are not as significant as they used to be. Exchange rates, duties, and rising retail prices have narrowed the gap somewhat.
Overall, The Plaza at Salmon Run remains one of the best shopping destinations in the region. It offers an excellent selection of stores, plenty of convenience, and a shopping experience that continues to attract visitors from both sides of the border. While it may not offer the incredible bargains it once did, it is still well worth a visit for anyone looking for variety and convenience in one location.”
