Idlwilde Inn is a charming and beautiful bed and breakfast located near Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen. The Inn features a stunning 1892 house with architecture from the Gilded Age, offering a mix of old-school charm, style, and comfort. The grounds are picturesque, and guests often enjoy sitting on the front porch to watch the sunrise or relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake, where they can enjoy wine or hot tea while chatting with fellow visitors. The owners, Marcus and Elin Dowd, are warm, personable, and passionate hosts who make guests feel welcome and special. Marcus loves sharing stories about the house and taking the time to get to know visitors. The staff, including a friendly dog named Stella, provides excellent service, ensuring guests feel at home. Every day, guests are treated to freshly cooked breakfasts, with a variety of delicious options that cater to food allergies, including gluten-free choices that are just as impressive as the regular offerings. The breakfasts are enjoyed on the porch with beautiful lake views and create a memorable experience. Guests often leave feeling like they've made new friends and plan to return for more visits. The Inn’s location, hospitality, and attention to detail make it a highly recommended destination for those seeking comfort, style, and warm hospitality during their stay in Watkins Glen.
I highly recommend the idlwilde inn, perfect location for anything you want to do in the area and it's a beautiful home that the proprietors do a great job with.
