Looking up the definition of “Customer Service” and you will be referred to 911 Generators Weedsport, NY; and ask specifically for Ed or Becky!All I can say is WOW! I know from personal experience and from past years of managing a hardware store, buying a major appliance, TV or other major device (lawn mower, snowblower, etc.) from big box store gives you a great deal but you sacrifice some other component(s) of the product (quality, warranty, features, knowledgeable staff/support, etc.). Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware that Generac sold their portable type generators through private dealers as I had only seen them online and at big box stores.In my case, shortly after bringing my generator home we had a power outage. When I hooked up the generator, it wouldn’t start! Fortunately, I was able to get it working but then contacted Generac Customer Service with the concern and was told to take it to a local dealer for warranty service. The Customer Service rep suggested a location in Syracuse, but I’m no fan of cities so I quickly looked for other options, randomly selecting 911 Generators to which she agreed was totally acceptable.I called 911 Generators and set up an appointment. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Becky who directed me to Ed out in the shop. I spent nearly 1 hour with Ed as we reviewed and began diagnosing the problem. When I left, Ed went off to contact Generac’s Tech Support to review the findings; which turned out to be a design flaw in the model. I followed up with Generac Custom Service which eventually arranged for a replacement unit to be provided to me. Generac shipped the new unit to 911 Generators who then worked with me for the swap….all of this was done knowing I did not buy my original unit from them!Ed and Becky at 911 Generators clearly bent over backwards help me diagnose the problem, work through the warranty process and eventually get an outstanding replacement unit. Had I known about them in the beginning I would not have hesitated to purchase my unit from them. Should ever decide to go for a whole house unit, they will be the one and only place I’ll be going to for the purchase, installation, preventive maintenance and follow up warranty work! I encourage you to turn to them for all your backup power needs too!!!Ed and Becky, THANK YOU for the phenomenal level of customer support and caring you provided to me!
