This location is absolutely awful! Just got off the phone with the rude secretary that now has my glasses and is trying to redo the lens for the third time in less than a month. I tried to be patient with them, I tried to think to myself that people make mistakes and give them another opportunity to fix it but at this point they just keep messing up. The first time the lens was cut in the wrong and I would not able to see out of the lens. I almost had a car accident with those lenses and I had to result to wearing my old frames. Took it back to them, they apologized and a week later gave me new lens. The new lens after one week had a chip in it. I told them at this point I want my money back because this is ridiculous. They told me they have a policy where they don’t give refunds. I told them that would be fine if this was buyers remorse however, it is not buyers remorse and this has everything to do with their error. On Saturday 3/9/24 they told me that they would speak to the manager and call me back on Tuesday and to leave the glasses with them so they can show the manager. When I didn’t hear from them on 3/12/24, I called today (3/13/24) and they tell me that they spoke to the manager and they are not going to give me a refund instead they sent the glasses back out for the third time to get repaired. I told them I don’t know why you sent it out for the third time to get repaired that’s not what I asked for. I left the glasses with you so that you can show management that there was a chip in it and that I wanted a refund. You should not have taken it upon yourself to go fix it for a third time when I don’t want any glasses being done by this company. Please take your business elsewhere. This place is not worth the headache. I have been wearing my old glasses since all this occurred and I have glaucoma in my eyes and this company doesn’t care that they keep messing up my vision. I contacted my credit card company to get their assistance at this point.

The whole staff is great just not the old woman in the front. She has no idea how to talk to customers. She’s so rude and I don’t know how she still has a job. She’s been there since I’ve moved the Long Island in 2019 and acts the same way everytime I walk in, it’s beyond me.

The optometrist is great here but the lady at the front desk is very rude.I’ve been going here for a few years and after this month I am going to find somewhere new.I went into get new lenses for my glasses. She was making every excuse in the book to not do it. I printed my insurance and plan information and it was like a chore for her. She never called me to tell me my glasses are ready and I end up calling her. I picked them up and she again she was rude. Didn’t give me a case or didn’t clean them. And then 5 days after I picked them up I got a call that my glasses are ready… doesn’t make sense. She is always constantly rude. I actually don’t know how someone with her rudeness is still employed. And based on everyone else’s review, they have the same issue.

If you want honesty, DO NOT choose this location. Depending on who you are, the older woman will add on a $75 co pay when there is no co pay. If you want real honesty and a pleasant experience, go to the Cohen's in Roosevelt Field. That's where I chose to go. Don't even waste your time going to this place.

Would not recommend this location. First, they have a very limited selection to choose from, and usually at Cohen's employees are eager to sell you a pair of glasses that is not the case at this location. First strike when I walked in employee did not acknowledge or greet me as I walked in, I spoke first and still no response until i was basically in rear of the store although I was only customer in an empty store. i gave the benefit of the doubt because she was on the computer when I walked in. Tried on a few pairs and only found two pairs that I liked. I stated I would look around and maybe come back. The employee stated well thats alright. i did not run your insurance yet." her tone was not harsh, but from my first impression walking into the store, i was uncomfortable, so I decided not to purchase anything.

I went here today for an eye exam and new glasses. Dr. Susan Choi was the Optometrist and she was incredible. She gave a thorough exam and speaks to you in terms you can understand and takes her time to explain things and answers all your questions thoroughly. I highly recommend this business and the doctor and give her 5 stars.

Quite obvious, there is a reason in which when you walk in there is never any foot traffic and it is always empty. The customer service is far from the greatest and the quality of craftsmanship when getting your glasses and prescriptions filled is unacceptable. Would not recommend even if the glasses were free.

They have such a bad variety and selection of frames. The glasses get loose very easily and the transitional (sunglass shades) on the glasses don’t even work AT ALL. The quality of the frames is terrible and everything is very overpriced. Also, the lady that was selling me my glasses was very judgmental and not customer friendly. They take very long to process the order and prepare the glasses, as they took over 2 weeks for mine. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Exam was quick thorough and affordable, Dr. Susan Choi was knowledgeable and very sweet I would absolutely recommend anyone to go to her. Unfortunately, the post exam experience was not nearly as pleasant. Serious Karen vibe from behind the counter, sales woman was rude. If I’m spending $600-$700 on a pair of designer frames and lenses I should not be made to feel rushed or uncomfortable bc I want to try on a few pairs before making my choice. Especially since I was literally the only customer in the store on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm. She seemed openly annoyed with helping me, I told her to show me which glasses I would be able to get done in house that wouldn’t need to be sent out as I need them asap. She directs me to a section of the glass case and I pick out a pair of frames and she takes my card and tells me that the total will be $700. She had neglected to tell me until after the fact that there is an additional $200 charge for the glare resistant coating suggested and also the lenses will need to be sent out in order to be coated and acted like this was common knowledge that they could now take anywhere from ATLEAST 3-5 business days to receive them so I said ok at worst 5 business days..and she kept saying well I don’t know I’ll call you I’ll just call you I don’t know when bt when we receive them I’ll call you. It was the eye roll with the “atleast” that did it for me I asked her to please process a return for the purchase, thank you. Already a small selection to choose from and had she been welcoming at all I would have stayed and picked out two pairs of frames and a pair of rx sunglasses as I recently came into some money from selling my house so I’m going on vacation and I can’t stand contact lenses. Again, the doctor was awesome. The salesperson makes you feel like a houseguest who invited themselves and has overstayed their welcome so to the sales person sorry for interrupting your obviously busy day and I’m happy to take my business elsewhere.

A solid C-. We usually get our glasses at my husband's union hall but the optical department is closed and we were directed to use a GVS provider. Called GVS and printed out the benefits page so we would have a reference for pricing. I made an appointment and when we got to Cohen to register we spoke with the short tempered lady behind the counter and she explained what our benefit covered. She directed us to the limited supply of covered frames and told us what lenses would be covered and that better ones would be X amount more. When I questioned the lens price, since it was different from the page I printed out, she sternly told me her price is correct. Then I asked about the frame credit which was supposed to be $130 according to the price list but she said $100. When I got home I found the frames I chose on line for $45. Dr. Choi, who is lovely, examined our eyes and remarked that my prescription had changed dramatically. She had been distracted at the time of my examination with a personal matter requiring her to leave the room to attend to a phone call. After the exam I picked out frames from the limited covered selection. Dr. Choi had explained that the style of frames I had been using was not the best shape for progressive lenses and I should select something else which really limited my choices down to about 5 frames. My husband used his own frames after seeing the selection. Time to write up the order. The lady at the counter asked where on our face we would be wearing the glasses. She leaned over the counter, put a dot on one lens and that was the fitting. This was my 4th pair of progressive lenses and I asked why nothing was measured and she said the doctor already measured my eyes in the exam. This sounded strange since in the past I always sat down with an optician with the frames on and they measured my eyes in the frames and took a number of measurements. Maybe there was some new technology I wasn't aware of so I said nothing else. We paid extra for the upgraded progressive lenses and left. The glasses were ready and we picked them up. There was no fitting of the frames, just the cranky lady throwing them on the counter and dismissing us. We had to ask for cases. Zero customer service. My husband's glasses were good, mine were not. Initially I thought the problem was because the cheap frames were crooked and I was looking through the wrong area on the lens. I went back to have the frame straightened. That didn't help so I called and was told that since my script changed I would need to get used to them. I tried for 2 more days and was dizzy and disoriented. I never had much trouble adjusting to a new script. There was no place on the right lens that was in focus. I called again and arranged another exam even though the lady insinuated that I was not giving them a chance. This was my 4th pair of progressives so I am used how they work. I arrived for my new exam and Dr. Choi changed the prescription on the right lens. Still no measurements were taken. The lens was corrected and I picked up the glasses a few days later. I started wearing them and they were fine. Not perfect, not great, just fine. At least I could wear them. Driving with them on is an issue as the distance portion seems too high or too short and I have to scoot them down my nose a bit to avoid having to tilt my head far down. Since my prescription changed and I had no backup glasses, I got a copy of the new script and went to America's Best in Westbury to get additional glasses. They have a system where you can self try-on whatever frames you like which eliminates dealing with an irritated person behind the counter who makes up prices on the fly. Plus, they have 2 for pricing that is very reasonable and price tags on the frames. I ended up selecting 2 pairs of progressives with their better lenses and a pair of reading glasses all in brand name frames with spring hinges for under $500. And guess what? As I sat down with the optician after selecting my frames she had me try on each pair and MEASURED my eyes in the fram
