This CVS features the dirtiest lot and most littered interior of any retailer in West Islip.I HATE shopping here with a passion.Today’s problem has nothing to do with the 1,000 pieces of trash on their exterior lease line nor parking lot. It has nothing to do with the 100 pieces of gum on the concrete before entering. Nor does it have anything to do with the many kids’ bikes near the entrance without one single bike rack. No, none of that! And, not even the 35+ pieces of trash on the inside carpets.Today, the problems are hospitality and service. I walked in and entered the waiting line for the pharmacy. The line guides were open and I walked to the cash register to pay my monthly Plan B bill. The Pharmacy Customer Service Rep, a blond 20-30 something named Marie said the pharmacy was closed. I said, “The line is open (no barrier), the pharmacy windows are up and I’m standing at the register next to the cashier. You’re open.”But, she pulled the cashier back and closed the pharmacy. Of course, as a longtime forced RX customer, that was an outrageous breach of Customer Service. No one was in front of me nor behind me.I did not need an RX or pharmacist.Given this insensitivity, I told her and other employees just how much I hate shopping here. It’s one thing to think how dirty the pharmacy must be given the premises; something altogether different to insist on upsetting a paying client. As a former PepsiCo Mystery Shopper for hundreds of restaurants, the mantra of HQSCPV ‘(Hospitality, Quality, Service, Cleanliness, Price & Value) is paramount to Management. So, if I did my share to thwart sales at the location and via social media, I am merely bearing witness. It’s a Company-wide concern when an employee creates such consternation with a stock shareholder.Decades ago, I would have written in my report that the employee should be placed on immediate probation, remanded to re-study CSR Training manuals and had this info placed into her employment jacket.Today, we’ll just let thousands see it on Google as well as the CVR web site. Tomorrow, of course, I’ll request her at the window and give her a copy of this—as well as the store manager and six other employees. CVS has enough customer service problems without your lack of customer care and there’s far too much competition as it is.Hospitality/

Despite some negative reviews, I would have to disagree and give five stars. I’ve placed medications in the past at this location, and never had issues. Staff are nice, and the Pharmacist Maria is very caring, and knowledgeable and answers any questions you have.

Pharmacy service is always challenging. Not enough help. Drive up window is often not available even when it is open.

I know the staff here, meanwhile and try their best. Sometimes they have to deal with challenging situations that are often times out of their control. I have found that the service at this pharmacy is very good compared to other pharmacies in the area and I am happy to continue using them for all of my needs

The pharmacy needs better training. For starters they move like slothes...is this cvs or the dmv...second they NEVER answer there phone. My doctor couldn't even get threw, I had to call my doctor after hours and have him do a verbal prescription in person smfh and he told the pharmacist 3 month REFILL...they gave me a 3 month supply which meant I had to pay for the 2 months, never in the 2 years I've been taking my bp medication I've had to pay a co pay. This was over a span of 2 hours. WORST PHARMACY AROUND. My next script will be going elsewhere. Such a joke.

Worst pharmacy i ever used. Nothing is ever in stock, phone line may aswell be non existent. 24 hours plus given to fill prescriptions, you wait 20 minutes online to say its not ready or the order was on hold. If you used the app it tells you if its on hold, contact them which you can't because no body answers the phone (45+ minutes and counting on hold) Terrible, avoid at all costs.

This location does not even deserve 1 star. Spent 3 hours total today trying to get a prescription that was “ready to be picked up”, according to the text update. Turned out it was not in stock so I ask why I was alerted it was ready and was told “the texts are never accurate”. The staff is beyond horrible and never fails to be extremely rude and unhelpful every time I come here to pick up a prescription. I will never come back here after today’s experience.

If I could give this pharmacy less than one star, I would. If you are sick, in pain, or need more than one prescription filled, do yourself a huge favor and go somewhere else. You don’t need to wait hours and hours for a pharmacy to fill your order. Or keep checking the app - lol! - only to see that your order is still pending after seven hours! Or call and wait on hold for 90+ minutes! Or show up and find that while one part of your order has been filled, you have to wait for the other. Even if you’ve gotten the phone call to come in! It’s insane. Respect your time and health more than CVS does and go somewhere else.Today was the absolute LAST time I will fill a prescription here. It’s absolutely not convenient. It’s just about guaranteed to be a huge hassle. It’s absolutely disrespectful.I blame myself. I should have quit this place months ago. But I’ve become accustomed to such shabby treatment from corporate retail that I kept giving them one more chance.Everything in the front of the store can be found in any grocery store, so it may be my last time altogether.I also had plenty of time to write this, since I waited another 45 more minutes for them to fill my “expedited” order, over 8 hours after the doctor sent it in.There’s another pharmacy literally across the street. I’ll see you there.

I have never encountered a horrible pharmacy until I came here. I called to get my refills. I then arrive at CVS 24 hours later and the girl says,” it’s not ready. I’ll have it in 15 minutes.” I don’t have time to wait so I go home. I come back 4 hours later and it’s still not ready. This is the situation every time. My prescriptions are NEVER ready. I don’t get it.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!On hold with the pharmacy for 32 minutes.I called the front of the store from my wife’s phone. A man answered and refused to go let the pharmacy know a customer was on hold for 32 minutes. He would only transfer the call. What good would that do being I’m already on hold? Now my 5 year old won’t get her medications.

I have just had the displeasure of meeting the most ignorant pharmacist. Not only did she deny me the medical prescription from my doctor but she changed her story multiple times on why and In the end she said it’s up to the pharmacist discretion. That finally was owning her narrow minded self. She then said the easiest way is to go thru prior auth with my insurance rather than pay out of pocket (my choice). As a former insurance consultant I definitely have more experience than her in that subject and advised absolutely not, that is incorrect. She did not ask me about my care, condition, usage or other treatments. She did not ask about my insurance or other experience with it. She did not relay why she might have any medical concerns. She did not ask about anything that was medical or insurance related. She simply decided to deny care. Sadly this is the third poor experience with cvs west islip within the week. Earlier I tried to call rather than make a trip so late but they left me on endless hold. Last Thursday I sat on line at the drive thru 10 minutes to pick up a different prescription that I verified on their app I would pick up at a designated time only to find out they reshelfed it and I had to reorder it and go beck tonight. The clerical folks are great. Courteous and helpful , but the pharmacy , lack of care , lack of calls and inaccessibility has been going downhill steadily. This is the abridged version of the cvs west islip experience. Now I see they have 2 stars. Keep in mind there’s no 0 on google.

They never ever pick up the phone. I tested them and was on phone for 1 hr waiting. No response. Nothing. So unprofessional. Someone could a be dying for not having their meds and they just don't answer. Whoever is managing or supervising. Should be fired.

141 reviews for CVS West Islip with an average rating of 2.0 and now I know why. I think Maria is the only person there who is fast and accurate so 5 stars to her and zero to everyone else. Scheduled a Covid Vaccine for my wife, the person administering the vaccine said it was not approved by insurance. Went to a competitor down the street. The pharmacist there was very nice, took my wife as a walk in, and did not need her prescription card because this is covered by Medicare 100%, not Plan D, but Medicare. Bottom line, CVS was putting this through the wrong insurance so who knows how many other senior citizens this person has sent on their way or who has paid for the vaccine out of pocket when they are in fact covered. I can't imagine why with the number of poor reviews this location has, management has not done something.
