Every time I'm here, I'm disappointed. Always under staffed and wait forever. Events are never as advertised. How are you going to advertise "whiskey & wing fest" make us pay $28 a ticket and then have to beg for the 3 styles of wings that you're guarding and not actually offer whiskey tasting? Even your bar tenders seemed to be confused. Also, if you advertise from 5-7pm, how do you take the wings away at 630pm? I've given them multiple chances before deciding to review, but this was just too much! Plus, at 7, they tell us we have to leave our table bc we don't have reservations!? What did I do when I went to YOUR reservation tab on YOUR website and booked our tickets and table? There was no time limit I was made of aware of? And when the 90's party started, you chose to have ONE bartenders, so the line to get a drink looked like Harry Potters Escape from Gringotts!

This is a beautiful place! Love the history and the style. The drinks are very good. The service was fast and our food came out quickly. We both got the strip steak. The sauce on it was a bit too salty for my liking but it was cooked well. The shoestring fries looked more like crispy onion but they were good

Went for NYE brunch and I don't recommend. Brunch menu was pretty much devoid of actual brunch food, ordered the french toast casserole and it tasted as if the cap to the nutmeg seasoning fell off while making it. At least the hot toddy was good, but was really surprised when they told me they were out of bourbon!(after double checking it turns out they were not out of bourbon)As for ambiance, it was obvious that the staff resented being there and it didn't help that one of the lights above our table was flickering, threatening to give us seizures the whole time. We were seated almost literally in the entry way, which would have been understandable if they had been fully booked, but there were a dozen open tables in better locations of the dining area. If you do come here, request a table near one of the windows, as the view seems to be the only thing worth coming for.

Other than an initial long wait to get our apps out, everything was DELICIOUS! And everything else came out with good timing. It's the busy holiday season, so I understand how things can get can backed up in the kitchen. HIGHLY recommend the warm sticky toffee pudding cake!!

Went here for a private event. The space was lovely. We got a little tour of the distillery and we learned the history of the space and it was fascinating. The drinks were amazing. I loved the rye (and I love a New York State rye) but the vodka was out of this world. So sweet and delicious. I can't wait to come back in the spring for the gin. Food was very good as well but since I was there for a group event where there was a buffet style I can't speak to the regular restaurant food.

If you want to have a nice drink at a beautiful old estate, this is a bit pricey but pretty good.If you want to go for dinner, I'd advise you to stay away.Truthfully for the price I was insulted by the quality. We got the charcuterie board and the mezze platter. I should have asked and not assumed, but based on the prices I figured these dishes would feature local ingredients. Instead we got food that was somehow blander than a costco spread. To add insult to injury it seems their water filter was down, as there was a distinct sulfur smell and taste to the water which no one ever addressed. The table next to me actually sent their water back just to get it off the table. All in all it felt like being in a comedy sketch about what a rip off fine dining is.

Hudson House NYE Party First time NYE Party at Hudson House Distillery. The good- wonderful setting, great old mansion (used to be a monastery) overlooking the Hudson. Good room, with a good size dance floor and a wonderful live band, JungleLove Band- all soul and every tune a dance opportunity. The food was better than expected- better than the Grand or The Thayer. Good crow, a lot of dancing and a group energy at midnight. The bad- poor drink service, and expected a lot better from a distillery. No tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec (like no one drinks a margarita), one decent bartender and one of no use whatsoever. They ran out of clean glasses, on NYE yet! Drinks were not very strong or well-made. No cocktail hour, as the space doesn't really have room for it, but why no coffee with dessert? Why paper napkins instead of linen? Why did we queue up for midnight champagne at the bar, rather than having it served at table? And why have two separate dinner serving times, rather than one, like everywhere else on NYE? At our table, this led to having to all shift places at the table for three new guests at the later dinner hour. Didn't see the point. A few tweaks, and getting serious about the bar service and drinks, would make this a slam dunk. As it is, only second year here they are doing NYE party, hopefully they learn and improve. Mixed feelings about coming back next NYE.

We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant today. The owner, Charles was so very welcoming. We came with 7 kids and they accommodated us in the library. There is such much interesting history to the location. The food was delicious and so were the drinks! Highly recommended!

We went here for a bank dinner holiday party and it was fantastic. The drink menu was robust and the signature cocktails were perfectly executed. The food was well beyond expectations. The pork belly app and steak dinner were spectacular. This was a high quality experience checking all the boxes: food, drink, atmosphere, service, cleanliness, entertainment. Well run establishment.

Beautiful views and great food. We went for brunch and everything we had was fantastic. They even had live entertainment which was very good. It was October so they had fall specials and drinks. The bourbon drinks were great and we actually stayed at the bar after eating. The only negative is the drinks are very pricey. 2 meals were slightly more than 2 drinks. Otherwise great place. I would definitely recommend it.

We decided to come to the Hudson House because of an Oyster/Jazz fest "event" we saw advertised. The "event" if you could call it that, was more of a yard sale/trade show you would see in retirement community clubhouse. There was no jazz. The oysters were not included in admission. The only oyster related thing was a small folding table with the option to buy some, if you weren't VIP. There was a limited "spirit tasting" of a specialty cocktail, consisting of Hornitos Mexican soda and vodka included with admission. (Which I I'm all down to try, but not at an event advertised as something else) Advertised as an elegant & classy event, we walked in to a room full of people with home made Knick knacks wearing pajamas, one table offered bbq sauce on tortilla chips. (Which I love but not for $25 a person) This is the 2nd time I've been here & this last time confirmed what I think. The atmosphere and the vibe is severely under utilized. This is a building that obviously had a lot of work and money put into it. For the amount of money I had to spend there, and time it took for me to drive there, I was very disappointed. I always have such high hopes because the it's such a cool building & has potential. The owners and event organizer need to seriously rethink their business goals. The Hudson House severely fell flat of my not high expectations.

Do NOT order the rigatoni!! It is inedible! There is a way that you can cook pasta in the oven - with lots of liquid in the dish. However, when you try to do it with a smattering of sauce and mostly cheese - it doesn't cook! The pasta was not cooked. When I sr t it back - all they did was heat the sane dish up more - pasta still not cooked! I ate another spoonful to be sure the whole thing wasn't like that - but it was. Pasta is about the easiest thing in the world to cook - but they don't know how. Stock the booze. The house red wine was actually ok. They actually had the nerve to charge me for it too

We booked a tour online and it was super easy. The owner Charles, personally called to reschedule to a later time which was not a problem at all. We arrived and we're greeted by a lovely hostess and got a cocktail right away. The old fashions are next level! Get the one with maple brown sugar Charles gave us a extraordinary tour and tasting experience filled with personal details, back stories of the creation processes and even gave us a personal tour of the unfinished upstairs. Everything was amazing.

We did the tour with Charles, and he was so passionate and lovely. He spoke at length about the history of the house and his own story of how the Hudson House came to be. He was both informative and interesting, and at the end, we all shared a wonderful tasting experience! My husband was shocked at just how smooth the bourbon was, and I found the vodka to be absolutely delightful. The atmosphere of the rest of the house is historic and homey, though we saw it at night, we could recognize the beauty and love Eminating from the location. 100 percent would recommend for parties, get together, and even weddings!!
