Penfed's main customer service # routed to Lela at this branch, and she is a knowledgeable delight. I was hoping she could get credit for the sale in some way, but no she was just happy to be of help any way she could! Penfed has a great company culture and excellent rates (I got an autoloan in the past with them - I was told no origination fees or pre-payment penalty, and paid the loan off early without issue). Didn't know they had branches, and wish I had one near me!

PFCU used to be terrific. Had both savings and prior car loan thru time. That first care loan was easy as could be. Promissory note was sent and check was sent. Trying to use them again now for another car loan and it's been atrocious. No follow up, agents that can't help will just hang up, weeks after initial app, still not funded. Closed out the loan app and went w another bank...closed on loan I. 3 days. Funded and done. PFCU couldn't seem to unscrew themselves after I had called so many times fkr the same issues. Just horrible.

I am absolutely appalled at how PenFed treated me and handled my account. I have a savings account as well as a very high limit credit card with them, and I have been carrying a balance for some time. Over the last two years, I have made PERFECT, ON TIME PAYMENTS, more than the minimum amount; every single month. Usually, companies reward you for this- NOT PEN FED! I noticed a double interest charge on my otherwise pretty low interest statement, and I called to inquire about it. Lo and behold, they were deceptive while signing me up- Balance transfer from when I first opened the card was not paid off "during the promotional period" so now it moves over to the high interest "Cash Advance" rate... LET ME REMIND YOU- I have never taken a cash advance in my life. And also let me remind you that when I signed up, NO ONE EVER MENTIONED that the "promotional rate" would change to "Cash Advance" rate... I was told it would roll over to my regular interest rate- THIS IS A LIE. So I ask, "Ok what's the balance on the "promotional rate" and I will pay it off right now so I don't need to be charged double interest on one balance" Their "supervisors" answer? "IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT, YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE CARRY-OVER INTEREST UNTIL YOU PAY THE WHOLE BALANCE OFF" Are you kidding me????? carry over interest???? So they just scam you into thinking that you have one balance, but you really have two, because there is two different interest charges, but it's really only one because we can't separate them and pay one off, and you can't really do anything because we are GREEDY and we want to collect double interest from all the morons who don't look at their statements..... Absolutely ridiculous. So then I ask, "Can you look at my payment history and account info and see if I qualify for a lower overall interest rate?".... NOPE we can't do that either. Tell me why I called Capital One a few weeks back, asked the same question and they were more than happy to check it out and keep my business??????Ended my call with the SUPER HELPFUL "supervisor" by letting him know I wasn't interested in arguing with him any longer, seeing as he was raising his voice to me, I promptly went with another company, and PAID THE WHOLE BALANCE OFF of my Pen Fed card.... You will NEVER get another dollar of interest from me PenFed. I hope this review makes people double check their statements and call and ASK QUESTIONS. Such shameful customer service, deceitful practices, and all around GREEDY company. I suggest you go with TD Bank, Capital One, or literally anyone else.

PenFed knows how to get customer service right. I wish they trained other companies. Every person I have spoken to made me feel valued and never rushed. Thank you for the excellent service!

This is my 2nd account with Penfed and I am seriously considering moving some of my other accounts to Penfed. Their rates are more reasonable and their business plans are long term for the company and their customers. The customer service care makes me feel like a family member. Make the call today.
