I've been a loyal customer for 15 years! For the bulk of that time, the owner's son, Zak, was my primary point of contact. Zak was always very accessible and would handle any issues (in the rare event one ever occurred) with compassion and a smile. In fact, I was so impressed, I referred several friends and family members. Unfortunately, since he left the company a couple of years ago, things have spiraled way downhill - I've encountered numerous issues within the past year alone with zero accountability. The owner is brutally apathetic and couldn't possibly be any more vile/cantankerous. In all honesty, the worst customer service experience I've EVER encountered across any business. Literally, THE WORST. What a shameful way to run a business.

D. F. Allen Inc. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS THEY SERVE. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR FROM THE OFFICE.
Let me say there are two things I hate. Number 1 would be being fastidious, and the other is being disrespected.
D.F.Allen has a dumpster on E Marie street in Hicksville, as of 10/19/25. This dumpster, as you can see from the attached photo does not have any reflectors on it, making it quite the hazard. When I saw this I decided to politely call up and tell them that there are no reflectors, and it would be a good idea for everyone’s safety to maybe send someone out there to slap some reflector stickers on it. The response I got was unbelievable. The man on the phone questioned who I was, and said to me with an attitude “and so you’re calling me to tell me about my dumpster i have out, what does it concern you.” and hung up on me. I’m concerned because it’s a very simple fix that could cause a bad accident. The response was extremely unprofessional. Instead of accepting that there is something that needs to be fixed, the childish man on the phone decided to act like I was the problem for simply suggesting that he should follow code for everyone’s safety.
I hope they are fined and the man child who was rude on the phone can grow up and learn to be a professional businessperson.

Great service and attention to detail. I actually filled up a 20 yard container and needed another one and the company sent someone out to pick it up and dropped off a new 20 yard container within hours of my call. I’m extremely pleased with their service and will use them again next time.

John Allen is a stand-up guy! I've known him for years, and he always takes care of business when it comes to handling the trash. Needed a dumpster early on a Sunday morning, and he delivered—literally—at 6:30 AM! Reliable, professional, and always comes through when you need him. Highly recommend!

Use another company! The owner is extremely unprofessional and overcharges excessively. All things that go on internally will come to light, especially with the people involved and stop removing my review!

This owner is crook. I put the dumpster outside and he charged me $50 extra for 5 days. After 3 days he send his driver to pick up the dumpster . He said pay me $50 more for next 5 days.I paid. Got the dumpster on October 5th and he send the driver on October 12 (7th day) to pick up again. It should be on October 15 afternoon. Now he wants to charge me $325 over wait. I asked him to send me receipt from dumping place. He doesn't have it. It's a big scam. Never ever will use it again. P J

The company's services and prices were excellent. They were very quick with both delivery and pickup. Zak, who came to pick up the dumpster, was a very cheerful person and greeted with a smile. What more could a customer ask for? Great people are the pillar of the company providing a great service.

This company was great. I had read all the reviews after I had ordered the dumpster and was nervous that I would have a problem. I had no problem at all. In fact, they were great. When I ordered the dumpster the owner John got on the phone and thanked me for using their company. The guy who delivered the dumpster was on time. I kept the dumpster for 6 weeks because I had a big project going on and there was no extra charge for the amount of time that you keep the dumpster. I had called several companies and they were the cheapest. John called after 4 weeks and asked if the dumpster was full, told him no, he said ok I will call you in 2 weeks to see where we are at. I also saw that John got some bad reviews himself but he was nice to me and I always got off the phone laughing at the jokes he told. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a dumpster.
