Customer service is for the birds. No one has any knowledge. not to mention very rude. Annoyed to help me close a $5 account. Asking for help with the mobile account was like a deer looking into headlights. Beyond clueless. This is exactly why I moved my funds elsewhere. Not recommended.

I was "pre-approved" for a loan and got the 2-5 business days to close/transfer funds email. 5th day hadn't seen anything and contacted their customer support. They assured me they would get it to their new customer/loan team and have the appropriate paperwork sent. 2 days later, no paperwork, and no word from Jovia. I guess I can't actually review their business other than they won't give it to me after a fake pre-approval.

Title: Disappointing Changes at Jovia Credit Union I've been a loyal member of Jovia Credit Union for nearly three decades, but my recent experiences have left me thoroughly disappointed. The credit union has undergone significant changes, and unfortunately, not for the better. One of the most frustrating aspects is the noticeable increase in fees. Jovia seems to charge for everything these days - overuse fees, transfer fees, and even a fee to request past bank statements. It's disheartening to see a financial institution that once prided itself on member satisfaction take such a turn. The overuse fees, in particular, caught me by surprise. It feels like every little transaction comes with an additional cost, making it increasingly challenging to manage my finances without constantly worrying about hidden charges. Moreover, the decision to charge for requesting past bank statements is baffling. As someone who has been a loyal customer for nearly 30 years, I expected a level of service that reflected my long-standing relationship with the credit union. Instead, I find myself paying for services that were once provided without any extra cost. It's disheartening to witness Jovia Credit Union deviate from the customer-centric approach that initially drew me to them. The changes in fees and policies have left me questioning the value of my continued membership. I sincerely hope that Jovia reevaluates its recent decisions and considers the impact on long-time customers like myself. Until then, I'll be exploring alternative financial institutions that prioritize transparency and customer satisfaction.

This review is for how rude Jovia's representatives are online and in person. I'd say 80% of your employees don't give a damn about their customers. I just had such rude and curt rep on the phone. She was giving me WRONG information and when I asked for a supervisor, she hung up on me.I've been with Jovia since it was NEFCU and I've only seen things go downhill with your employees since you started growing.

Stay away from the mortgage scam!!l They collect all the fees then they deny the the mortgage. We're talking about thousands of dollars from thousands of people.

The staff at the Westbury location are both friendly and very helpful. They've helped me with several banking matters over the last 15 years.

Absolutely HORRIBLE telephone customer service! I just called to ask a question about my Jovia mortgage and spoke to FOUR different people, none of whom could help me with my question. I finally gave up. It's like this every time I call Jovia.

Since NFCU changed over to Jovia I feel it's been going downhill especially with customer service.I went in for help with my checking account with fraud. In 5 days and 2 debit cards my accounts had charges that were not mine. They canceled one debit card on a Thursday and gave me a new one the same day. On Saturday I had new fraud charges with my new debit card. How can this happen? I went in on Monday and they had no answers for me. They only took down information and reported it to the Fraud dept. Also upon leaving I started to take the rep's card and they said to me that I don't need her card that anyone can help me if I call and she wouldn't be able to do anything more. So disappointing.I now have to wait to be refunded. I asked if they can try and rush this because I am a Senior Citizen and rely on that money. All the representative did was write on the report was please issue ASAP.Very disappointed. I need to change Credit Unions.

Worst banking experience ever. Terrible customer service. Took my 16 year old to the West Hempstead branch to open up an account with money he made working as a lifeguard. I was told by a representative to open a teen element account. No mention of a checking account. I Was misled by that representative on exactly what the account was. we were told that he would be charged $10 a month if he went over six transactions. We were charged $10 a transaction over the six transactions. Only recently was I able to review his account and found that this has been going on for six months. In total he lost over $700 stolen by Jovia bank. Customer service was unwilling to work with me in resolving this problem. Heartless zero compassion. Though the mistake was on my end for not paying closer attention to his account I feel we should’ve been informed when we open the account of all of our options. Do not use this bank.

Don’t bother going in for a card replacement. When it was NEFCU, it was so simple to get a card replaced. I’m writing this review after waiting an hour to just get a replacement in the mail. At least have an extra employee on Saturday (when most teachers are off, which is probably most of their accounts since it started off as an educator only credit union) to do the quick and simple fixes!

After the switch from Nefcu to Jovia has just been a horrible experience.. You are not given until end of day to get rid of any negative charge it comes out right away.. so if you are short 5 dollars you'll be owning $35.. Whatever fraud control they're are using now is just the worst even if your a using ATM or business you frequently use .. waiting on hold to clear the false fraud report is another process waiting to speak with someone.. Calling for assistance is not of use as employees no longer have the concern or understanding or care for you liked they did with they really don't care to help much .. I had one employee hung up on me because i was TO frustrated and his repeated points was not helping even asking to speak to a supervisor he refused to transfer me because of my tone.. ive been with Nefcu since 2016 and I think this will be my last year banking with Jovia as the frustration is not worth it. I would not recommend banking with Jovia.

I’ll never go to Jovia again and recommend others to go elsewhere.I got a car loan, and applied for a business line of credit. Both experiences were problematic and disappointing.Customer service at Jovia was subpar, made mistakes and gave bad advice. Jovia didn’t care about my business and they made it obvious by not helping me through the process and by not providing me with the appropriate information to succeed. In addition, they take no responsibility for their mistakes. Based on my disappointing experience and the bad experiences of my colleagues who have been customers at Jovia, it’s obvious that Jovia has management and personnel problems. I recommend going to Banks who care about their customers and make things easy and are reliable.

The lien on my car loan was never cleared from years back. This should have been done automatically by Jovia when the loan was paid off. When I called to get it resolved, a supervisor couldn't even get a hold of the department that needs to help me. Because of this I still cannot get my title and am losing out on selling my car.You were quick to take my money, but not very quick to help me when I needed it. Phone agents are very limited in knowledge as well as what they are able to handle. Management here is not on top of things.

I am posting this in support of my disabled mother. She has been a member at least 40 years back when it was NEFCU. Since the change to Jovia I have never seen her have so many problems with things so simple. Since 12/12/22 her debit card malfunctioned and she's been trying to get a replacement since then to no avail. After months of calling just to be transferred constantly to a person with no answers they finally as of 1/23/23 to tell us there's a world wide debit problem with ALL banks. We are both totally disgusted. Half to no stars is more appropriate.
