I went there July 10 1985 and haven’t had a drink since. Seafield gives you the directions to lead a sober and productive life. If you think that you have a problem with alcohol or other substances please give Seafield an opportunity to help you, it may be life changing for the better.

stayed there for 2 days and left AMA.There's a 3hr line for meds , imagine being in you PJ's wanting go to bed but there's 20 women in front of you and some saving a spot for a friend .I did not even speak to my assigned councilor before checking out, groups consists of 100some people in cafeteria men on one side women on the other and god forbid you say good morning to the opposite sex. just too over crowded and understaffed, you feel like just another case. After day one of detox you are not allowed to sleep in you must be up at 7.food was decent , in variety YES quality not so much salad bar was nice, portions were huge, there was also desert and ice cream if you were quick enough. over all place is bearable if it wasn't for the super long med wait and no benefit in therapy (group and individual). to me that's what's important in recovery . but hey I've been to a worse place there this.

Seafield has turned into shelter for court mandates and they have no safe protocol to protect patients from others who might be a threat to themselves and others. It was disguised by the family disease promo and although there is many staff members that are phenomenal the clinical director Barbara is not suitable for her job! She sort of makes decisions as the wind blows..They understand that this may kill people and she willingly put me on the streets with no proper protocol! Also many HIPPA violations, from medications to personal information they spread it to staff or clients that have no business in my medical situation! One person(Barbara)clinical director) with certain powers can make uninformed decisions and hurt families and possibly relapse! I went to seafield to start my journey to recovery and I realized that this the most important change that can save my life yet I was thrown out with no after plan and no plausible reason which affects my life. This happened in a span of 30 to 45 min. Regardless there is hope and there is people willing to help you there! I hope this experience does not happen to ruin lives and family's of others!

Excellent staff that truly care and also believe in the family dynamics of addiction and family dysfunction and they work closely with both sides. Families and addict. That is really rare and very underestimated. Anthony is brilliant!

They didn’t tell us about when they discharged a family member. He has been missing for two days because they didn’t want to contact his family and let him know I had to call in and find out myself. This place is the biggest waist of time if your trying to change your life. No help no professionalism just people trying to make a living off comforting people and sending them through their own vicious cycle.Would not recommend anyone bring their family

This place had such promise. My partner spent a week here and really liked it and felt like he was making great progress. He enjoyed the groups and counselors. He said he was learning a lot. One week in, another patient lied to staff accusing him of making derogatory slurs which HE NEVER MADE. Not only was he not listened to he was kicked out on the spot.. Tossed out with NO WAY TO GET HOME. He was two hours from home. Staff didn't care. They would not even take him to the train station which was miles away!So in summary, this place expelled a medically fragile person who was detoxing from chemical dependancy and had no way to get home and has no where to live due to a recent eviction. They knew all of this and didn't care. He is now in a far worse state mentally and physically than when he chose this place to help him. The people who run this place are heartless and unprofessional. There is no way this could not have been worked out had they listened and been adults. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. Now we have to pick up the pieces of this mess they created and pray that he can trust "professionals" elsewhere with his mental and physical health.Very disappointing and absolutely criminal. Where are your professional ethics? What kind of people harm people who are at the lowest point in their life and have come to them for help? This will be reported to the relevant authorities and agencies. What these people did was dangerous and abusive. Hopefully notifying NYS OASAS and JCAHO will raise a flag to whoever oversees places like this so other vulnerable people looking for help don't suffer like my partner did.

This facility is a complete joke. The counselors do not even bother looking at your intake form hence giving them a much better understanding of what care everyone needs. And their group therapy is even worse because all the patients are doing the talking in the counselor it’s just sitting back and watching and they will try and get you to attend as many meetings as possible to charge her insurance company before you get to see the psychiatrist. They have their business concept down pat, and a counselor Michael has all the social graces of a Vietnamese potbelly pig. I along with many others decided to find quality care elsewhere.

It is what you make of it!This isn't the Hilton or the Ritz-Carlton. It is a rehab.Do not go into this place expecting 1st class accommodations. That is not why you are here. It is not a vacation. It is a place to focus on your recovery and mental health. The bedrooms are nice & clean. Nothing fancy but comfortable. Everyday there is housekeeping and they do a great job but you also have to do your part and keep your space neat & clean. It is a very important part of recovery. The food is good and there is plenty to eat. The cooks are very nice and do a great job ensuring all of us get a nice, hearty meal. The staff & counselors there are, for the most part, very good. You may run into a few who you don't like but treat them with respect & honestly and they will grow on you.

The negative reviews are really amazing!!? If one goes to a treatment facility and is not ready for help there view will be negative to those seeking help. I went to this facility in 2011. I stayed sober for 3 years after but I was not ready. The things I learned at Seafield helped me when I was released. Today I am 5 years clean and living my best life.? Thank you Seafield

I had a amazing experience at seafield. I wish I could have had more time there. The staff were great and professional. I was taught more about addiction then I ever knew. I can't wait to go and speak there about my journey in recovery I highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of treatment

Even after working here for many years, I am still in awe of the beautiful setting and more importantly the caring and dedicated professionals that I get to work alongside of. It is a privilege to work with such a talented team and for a family-owned company that values quality care for clients above everything else.
