Bait and switch. I booked an suv and they said that their system shows I booked the cheapest car. I showed them my reservation which shows SUV was booked. They would not honor my reservation and made me pay more to upgrade to suv.

Today was my first time using Budget car rental. They had very competitive prices compared to another rental company. The lady Angeline was super nice and professional. She put me in a really nice, new car. This will be my new go-too rental spot. Had a very pleasant experience.

They did not have the full size car that I had reserved and pre-paid for. STEVEN went above and beyond for me. He offered me several different SUV's for the same price as my original reservation. When I expressed concern over the amount of gas they would use, he offered me the ONE small car they had, and since it was much smaller than what I had reserved, and he could do nothing to change the amount of $$ I already paid, he offered me a fuel credit in attempt to make up the difference.
I accepted his offer.
Having never driven in NY before I was unaware of the multitude of tolls! Steven took all the time required to explain to me how they worked, about how much they would cost and my options for paying them through Budget.
I was blown away at the time he took to make sure I was comfortable, fully understood my charges, and what to expect driving around NY state.
I absolutely was not expecting such great customer service at such a busy location & city. Thank you Budget and Thank you Steven!

This experience like about all others was abysmal. Customer service is nonexistent reservation I made is unavailable, but I can upsell you. It’ll cost you more money, but I can get you out right now. This isn’t the first time this isn’t the fifth time it is the last time.

The car we received has a cigarette smell and other unpleasant smells, we have children, and also too dirty, we went to change it and they don’t have them available and they still send us to other places, it doesn’t seem fair to me y In addition, a rubber is damaged

If I could give zero I would. I reserved a large SUV to accommodate 6 adults and luggage on September 8th to be picked up in White Plains on December 22nd at noon. I received multiple emails and texts confirming my reservation. At 11am (1 hour before pick up time) on December 22nd I received a phone call from the White Plains location telling me they didn’t have a vehicle to accommodate me. I was told they tried calling other locations that morning but because of the holiday there weren’t any large vehicles. The best they could offer was a Toyota Corolla and Kia Soul. Upon arriving at the location, the Corolla was ready, the Kia was not mentioned but I was told they had a Chevrolet Malibu but it wasn’t ready. We waited a half hour to be given the two vehicles, paying for both with the only compensation being they would waive returning the vehicle with a full tank of gas. Upon returning the vehicles, they never put a note on about the gas but the return location was able to waive that. It is unacceptable that a reservation made over 3 months prior could not be accommodated, especially after receiving multiple confirmations, the final one on the morning of the 22nd at 10:30am. What would have happened if I didn’t have another adult able to drive the 2nd vehicle?

I'm really like renting from budget and in most cases the cars are great and service fantastic. This time there were two issues, the inside windshield had some kind of greasy film which we didn't realize until it started to get dark. The other issue was no windshield washer fluid.

I made a reservation two months ahead with budget Rent-A-Car for an AWD car. due to the December weather in New York. Well, my mom is in the hospital. I was thankful. I arrived at the airport safely due to storms as our flight was delayed approx 40 minutes. Well when I went to go pick up my rental car being it was a late evening flight. I got to the counter at 11:10 lights were out nobody was home. The sign said go to the Avis booth, same thing lights out nobody home. no text message or phone call not that I could've responded as up in the air. I would've received it once I got back on land. I was literally stranded at the airport. My mom is in the hospital and this is what I get. I called customer service got no help other than they are canceling my reservation. well thankfully National rental car was open. Had to pay about $200 more. They didn't have many vehicles left . I got no satisfaction from trying to reach a manager. And.when I was returning to the airport to go back home, there was a budget representative at the booth, brought this matter to his attention, and he said that's how it works here. I did tell him I hope one day this happens to you stranded at the airport during a devastating moment in your life. Stay far away from budget please. I tried to reach out to a manager no response as well they don't care about customers they just care about your money and no communication skills at all. They need to have a plan in place for delays and cancellations other than too bad so sad..
