The grey carpet started to shred on the risers as soon as it was installed. At first it was recommended that we trim back the broadloom that was pulling out! This is not a remedy for defective broadloom made by the Dixie company. Steve Santagata (the owner), said he would replace the carpet if we paid for part of the exchange. When we approached C.W. recently to get the work done Steve Santagata went back on his word.
Now, Carpet World claims we have cats or small dogs that caused the shredding. We have neither. The burgundy carpet on another set of stairs in our home is years old and, not installed by carpet world, and not shredding!
We purchased from carpet world because they had wonderful reviews a year and a half ago.
Now I see that they have many terrible reviews.
Many dissatisfied customers.
The installers were rude. Also, they damaged our wall. Mr Hasan Cebeci who works for Mr Santagata thought a claim should be put in for damage to the wall. I was much more concerned about the carpet. Mr Cebeci observed the problem with the carpet and said he would stand by us and help, that clearly we did not receive proper goods. He explained that he was ‘here for the customer.’ Well, he is not - perhaps because the boss is not?
We always prefer to use local brick and mortar stores. Well, we are going to back to big establishments for our carpet needs.
If you plan to buy from Carpet World I would suggest thinking twice. When a business saves money by going back on their word and not standing by their product it’s bad judgement, and a sure sign they are loosing clientele, and eventually, perhaps the entire business.
Truly we hate writing bad reviews, but have learned, that just as we benefit from the honest reviews others post, others should benefit from ours - even if, unfortunately it is a very very bad one.

We had carpet installed in several rooms, stairs and hall thirteen months ago. The carpet on the stairs is loose in multiple places! The hallway was poorly finished by the walls. Unhappy with the installation! This shouldn’t be happening.

14 months after insta carpet on the stairs, hallway, and bedrooms. the carpet is coming up on the stairs! dry unexpected and disturbing!

We have had a horrendous experience with Carpet World. They completed a floor installation in our home months ago and did a horrible job. They have since been abhorrent about rectifying the situation. Continuing to say they are coming to fix it but not actually completing the work and cancelling on us over 5 times. It has truly been one of the most horrific experiences.

Around the end of 2016, Carpet World took care of my new apartment. The staff are wonderful...they don't pressure you into anything, they're knowledgeable, and they're very helpful. I was able to find *exactly* what I wanted, and their installers did a fantastic job! Three years in, the carpet is holding up really well, even up against a cat and a toddler, and is almost as soft as it was when I got it.Today I stopped by again because I'm about to show for 4 days at a convention and wanted something soft to step on. They had some scraps that were the perfect size for my needs. I would have paid for them, but they let me have them for free!I almost wish that I needed carpet more often so I could come back here more. I can't recommend this place enough!

Let's hope our recent experience was not typical of what takes place in this store. Indeed, it was dreadful. Our initial contact was by phone to discuss a rug we were interested in. During the call, the salesperson noted the details of what we needed and promised to get back to us. Shortly afterward, we were in the neighborhood and decided to visit the store. That day, however, the salesperson we had spoken with was not there. Another gentleman was kind enough to help us. The next day, we got a call from the salesperson, who quoted a price of $5,200 for the rug, which was 9 by 14 (approximately 15 square yards). We were shocked by the quote and asked for a breakdown of the costs involved. His response: We don't give breakdowns. Then we learned that delivery to Manhattan (from White Plains) would be $750. Oh my! That was the breaking point. End of deal. The absurdity of the pricing prompted us to go online to find other vendors of this same rug. It took only 15 minutes to discover the hot spot of cutrate carpeting in Dalton, Georgia. In one brief conversation with a friendly and helpful salesperson, we found out that the identical rug would be available for $2400, including delivery to Manhattan. Barely three weeks passed and the rug arrived, in perfect condition and exactly as we ordered. For us, Carpet World was operating on a different planet. When the price is more than double what you'd pay elsewhere, you'd have to have your head examined if you buy there.

The carpet we purchased is so soft and luxurious that I want to walk on it all day. It was high quality and well worth the price. Carpet World is the best!

i did a little research about this carpet company via yelp and from some of my neighbors and they seem legit enough to use them to install new carpets in my pad .they are minutes away from the downtown white plains area and if you are going in person to check out the carpets , rugs , etc plenty of free outdoor parking and many other stores to visit also on tarrytown rd. i made it simple for the guy at the shop , show him photos of the living room , bedroom , had the correct measurements of the room , etc so now it's time to look over some carpet samples and pick out what looks appealing . so many choices so kinda glad that i had my brother with me helping with the decision . finally picked what i wanted , what the cost would be and set up the appointment date. i was not around for the installation but my building super was and he text me when the job was completely . old carpets are removed and new carpets look great with each room looking neat and new . glad i took my fellow yelpers advice along with my next door neighbor . good quality carpets , reasonable prices, fast and neat installation sounds good to me.
