Very disappointed! I was told I can reserve two units for free 1st month rent. I visited in person twice to look at the units that would fit my needs weeks before. When I decided what I needed I went to get the 1st unit. I was advised I couldn't get 2 units for 1st month free. Therefore I paid full price so I could get the 2nd unit free for the 1st month. Since it was close to closing I was unable to think straight after the new information & confusion. I called the next day to try & change into my daughter's name because it was her stuff & was advised I couldn't.
They misinformed me when I went twice to see units & decide what sizes I needed. It was their error not mine.
I decided not to rent 2nd unit there & go elsewhere!
I don't recommend Cubesmart!
Update: I responded to owners comment to email them & they would call to discuss. I never received a response? Don't give false hope that you want to rectify the situation. Due to no response, I am no longer using the storage unit!

I have had other units in the past at other facilities. This experience has restored my faith in humanity.. Briana, who I believe is the manager is top notch. If she is not the manager she should be. She is always willing to help and find solutions. Dealing with storage is never fun but the staff and facilities at CubeSmart White Plains make it easy. I would recommend Briana and her team looking for affordable and clean storage.. 5 stars!!!

When I first rented a unit here, it was $196 for a 10x10x8 unit. As I arrived with my things to move in, the unit was empty but had not been cleaned. There was dirt and debris that I had to ask to have cleaned. After 5-6 months of renting the unit, I was notified that the rent would be increasing by about 21% to $238. After another 5-6 months, the rent again increased to $291 (+22%). So by the end of 1 year there, the rent had increased about 50%.
I contacted them to see if there was anything I could do to lower the rent. I was told that I could move to a smaller unit, and that the rent increase should be less frequent and less significant in the smaller unit (not upwards of 20%). I was told that for each unit, there was some sort of “target” that they have and they typically raise rent until they meet that, after which the increases slow down. This smaller unit was supposedly at that “target”, according to the manager I spoke with.
I then moved to a 6x8x10 unit for $267 per month. After 5-6 months, the rent on this unit was increased to $342 per month (+28%), which exceeded the rent on the larger unit. This unit had no light inside, had small bits of broken glass on the ground when I moved in, and had a slight moist, musty odor. I contacted them again to ask about the latest increase as this seemed to contradict what I was told. I spoke with 3 separate individuals, each of whom were unable to answer my questions and told me I needed to speak to a manager. Each said that they would notify the manager and that they would contact me. This never happened and it took nearly 2 weeks of me calling to finally get on the phone with the manager.
At this point, I was told that this notion of “target” is not exactly correct and that the rent increases typically happen to offset costs, drive revenue, or other unspecified reasons. Although, it’s hard to imagine that their costs consistently increase 20-30% every 5-6 months. When I asked at what point these increases might slow, given that the “target” concept was inaccurate, I was not given a clear answer. I then moved out of this facility entirely as $342 was far too expensive and I had enough of dealing with this.
Overall, the units I experienced at this location were dirty and not well maintained. They increased the rent at very significant rates, with no signs of whether these rate hikes would slow or cease and little information as to why they were happening. The staff I interacted with tried to be helpful but were largely uninformed about any detailed information, passing questions to the manager who could be exceedingly difficult to get ahold of. When I did get answers, these answers often were unclear, noncommittal, or even contradictory. Based on my experience, I would not rent here again and I would encourage others to avoid this place, if possible. I was able to find a unit of the same size at a better maintained storage facility nearby for less than half the price.

Pricing has gone up 2 in less than a year have been with them for 3years now and no luck getting better pricing. Now I have to empty the storage and figure out how to accommodate everything in my apartment. Complete bs.

Great staff, clean facility, maintained properly and a nice soda machine on the first floor. Putting stuff in storage is thirsty work and I am so grateful they provide this convenience.
