I don’t know WHAT people are talking about, this place has been my mom and I’s go to birthday splurge every year since 2020! I’d go and blow my paycheck all the time if I didn’t live in Brooklyn!I’ve not had an unsuccessful orchid from here. Ever. They always are healthy, stay alive, and my oldest Sharry Baby I bought has 4 stems growing right now. If an orchid has been unsuccessful at reblooming— it’s 100% been because the growing conditions in my home were subpar. I LOVE talking shop about orchids with the owner’s son— he knows EVERYTHING about these plants and has never steered us wrong. From latin names, to culture sheets, to the ORIGINS of a hybrid— he knows it all.For NURSERY grown GRADE A orchids, of course it will be more expensive than a grocery store, but less expensive than your standard nursery (I’m talking those places that charge you $60 for a white moth orchid). I’m shocked that people would be so picky about these plants, especially when this is one of the few places in the area that supplies some rare gems for FAIR pricing. I recommend to everyone I know.

This place is the best!! My partner has been begging me to come and I’m so glad I finally visited. Beautiful selection of orchids and other plants. I got a gorgeous octopus orchid and variegated string of pearls here. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Drive all the way in for the store :)

The most diverse selection of orchids I have seen yet in NYC, no even the botanical garden has the varieties this nursery has available and reasonable price. The owner(s) seems to be a collector. Will be visiting this place again!

White Plains Orchid Farm is exactly the place my mom and I have been searching so long for! As soon as we stepped foot in the nursery, we were immediately greeted with a welcoming, warm, peaceful and soul-nurturing vibe. This family run business offers a unique experience with an impressive variety and selection of beautiful and healthy orchids, all reasonably priced. While their collection offers buyers from all levels of experiences, everything they sell is truly radiant and magnificent. Not only was it a nice getaway to see such pretty flowers, the owners were very knowledgeable and kind— providing detailed guidance and recommendations on how to care for each species. They clearly have a passion for what they do and it shows through every plant with its strong roots, fleshy green leaves, and the fragrant scent that hangs in the air as you walk past. We are thrilled to have found such a gem! Looking forward to coming back to buy more enchanting plants and to support such a hospitable business.

Hands-down, the most amazing selection of orchids I’ve ever seen — both in quantity and quality. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, they’re incredibly knowledgeable about each of the species and the care required to keep your orchids happy and healthy. It’s evident the family that runs this greenhouse really loves what they do and take pride in their work. Truly a gem of White Plains and highly recommend paying them a visit.

Gorgeous flowers and plants of so many varieties I’ve never seen. I’ve had dozens of their orchids now through the years and each lasts several months. Truly impressive.

I purchased 2 orchids last weekend at the Deep Cut Orchid Society show at Dearborn Market. Upon arriving home less than 1/2 hour later, I found that one of them has no roots at all, while the other one has minimal roots and some new roots. When I contacted White plain orchid and requested a replacement for the rootless orchid, Greg replied to me and told me that "These plants are cuttings and will root out given time and proper conditions" and " If it recovers well it should flower out in the fall." After requesting a replacement for the rootless plant again, Greg repeated that "They will survive and recover with proper care." When I purchased these orchids from White Plains Orchids, I expected that I was buying live plants NOT ones that needed to be "recovered". At the same show I purchased orchids from 3 other vendors - all are doing splendidly. Do not get tricked by White Plains Orchids.

I love coming here, they have a large variety of big and healthy orchids. They also sell media, nutrients and orchid pots. If you have questions about orchids, just ask. They have nice plants and are friendly people

Went in for the first time since pre pandemic. The woman and her husband were not friendly. The son used to be in the store and he was wonderful, but this place has gone down hill. The orchids were not healthy and I was told the $20 orchids would last a week. I was buying 3 for a pot. The woman refused to let me gently place the orchids in the planter I brought with me to make sure they were the same height. She was very combative with me. She accused me of coming in last week, not sure what that meant, but felt so uncomfortable that we left with nothing. I was not there last week. I'd sooner have no orchids than give them a penny. The husband then told me his natural gas bill was $17,000 last month. I did not need to know that. Extremely disappointed with the husband and wife owners. If they are going to sell retail they should bring their son back. He was amazing and so accommodating. I did not want to buy her $300 arrangement that she said "I either buy her arrangement or I buy the orchids and figure it out" as she said "im not your florist". She was vile and shouldn't ever work with customers. So rude. It's ashame bc I used to look forward to going to this store and always got great orchids. The selection this time was mostly diseased, with lots of brown spots all over the white orchids.

Drove from Suffolk County (Long Island) to shop for Orchids and the man who was there was bothered when I asked questions. I asked about an orchid and its color and he answered "what more do you want?" I also asked about the care of an orchid that I was purchasing and he said "I'm not coming to your home to know the conditions where the orchid will live" and last but not least, some orchids had a price sticker of $60 and he said, no they are $80 while the stickers were clearly stuck on them. He has no manners and should not be running a business that customers might have a question to ask. I did purchase two orchids $60 each from the place since I had never seen them anywhere else, but will definitely not be recommending nor going back ever.

I literally love this place, probably one of my favorite orchid nurseries in the area. They always have healthy plants and an amazing selection with things I haven’t even heard of before, often in bloom too! They’re also very friendly. They have phalaenopsis, paphiopedilum, dendrobium, oncidium, cymbidium, basically a little bit of everything!
