The degree of incompetence and unprofessionalism I have experienced attempting to work with Vermont Marble and Granite has been shocking. After months of dozens of unprofessional, inaccurate, and confrontational emails showing they have no interest in working together to reach a mutually satisfying conclusion of our project, I am walking away from my deposit and working with a different company to complete my project.

Paul from Vermont Marble, Granite, Slate and Soapstone Company created a stunning 5-piece soapstone farmhouse sink for a customer of mine, and I couldn’t be happier! The craftsmanship is flawless, and the soapstone’s quality is outstanding. The team was professional, helpful, and made the process so easy from start to finish. They were able to ship this 1100 miles to me, with the packaging to insure nothing would happen in transit! Highly recommend them for exceptional stonework and service!

I am extremely happy with my purchase (Nectre N65 wood stove) Communication was great! Special thanks to Rebecca who kept me informed and ensured the transaction was smooth. The stove is very heavy, but they crated and shipped in a manner where it arrived safe and sound. I would purchase from them again without any hesitation.

If I could leave a zero or negative star review for its customer service, I would. My husband ordered an urn for his mother's cremains from Vermont Marble in Whitehall, NY. When it arrived and we unpacked it, we were hit with such a noxious odor, we had to take it outside and I had to wipe my eyes they began to tear from the fumes. I ultimately looked inside the urn to find globs of epoxy smeared all over it. I called the company to hopefully remedy the problem and thought I would be met with even a modicum of understanding, especially given the circumstances (I mean, we're not talking about countertops [which from the other reviews seem to be no better], we are talking about a cremation urn). I was met with nothing but rude defensiveness the likes of which I have never encountered. She said the epoxy used to glue it closed "has to be applied that way" and suggested that we "leave it in the garage and wait for the smell to" dissipate. I asked what we could do if my husband did not want to use said urn for his mother. She said, "We have a no refund policy" and offered no help. I suggested that there should be some kind of mention that the product may come with a strong odor because had we known, we likely would not have purchased this $450 item. She remained defensive and rude and never once apologized for anything (a basic in customer service). When I challenged the way she was speaking to me, she accused me of yelling at her (if I raised my voice, it was in response to her question: "Well, how do you think urns are MADE? If you had called and asked questions about it...."). I became emotional at one point and said, "We are talking about an urn for the cremains of my mother-in-law!" and she responded, "I've lost people, too!" Frankly, when you're in a position of customer service, that A.) isn't applicable, and B.) should inform how you speak to someone who is coping with planning a memorial. The icing on the cake was when she said, "When you have calmed down (I was calm), you can call me back, good day." and hung up on me. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. Terrible craftsmanship that literally stinks. Please save yourself and your loved ones from being treated so poorly and look elsewhere. I don't know which disgusts me more: the smell of the urn or the customer service I received when I called for help.

Several thousand dollars for countertops that arrived without the edging we had driven 2 hours North to request in person. And when we reported same to them they wrote us off with a form email, not even a phone call to say "Gee we're sorry, here's how you can fix this" . This final error was not the first communication issue we had in the process.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. We ordered a wood stove. We were never notified when it would ship. It arrived with concealed damge, a very large dent and paint scraped. After two months of complaints they refused to replace it and offered a very small refund. Very disappointing.Update: Apparently they choose to insult and gaslight customers instead of learning from and correcting their mistakes. The crate was a large cardboard box place over the stove on top of a pallet. You could have sorted this out with the shipping company for the concealed damge. Anyone reading your response should see this as a warning of the poor customer service you provide. Now go use your 5 brain cells and do something constructive with them.

We had Carrara marble countertops installed over a year ago by this company. The sink cut out, which is a 28” x 17” piece of Carrara marble, was supposed to be delivered during day of install, but was not brought to the site of install. I have not been able to get an answer since as to its whereabouts, or reimbursement for the contracted work that was not complete. I have reached out multiple times throughout the year with no answers. As a customer, this is beyond frustrating. I would not recommend this company at this point in time.

We started the process of getting new countertops for our kitchen four months ago with this company. It has been one mistake after another with them. They came to install the countertops this week and they don't fit. There is a 1 inch gap all along one side. They weren't finished the way I had ordered them and when we complained they said they would come and fix it in a few weeks. My kitchen was been virtually unusable this whole time. I would NEVER do business with them again.
