My daughter learned more in one lesson at Charles Water Karate than one year at another karate studio. Her focus and discipline have both improved greatly after joining. I can't recommend enough.

We’ve been at Charles Water Karate for 2 years now and my son loves it - as do we! You can tell how passionate everyone is about what they do, and it shows in how well the classes are run. My son looks forward to class and is so proud of himself as he advances belts. It feels like a family here, and we’re happy to be a part of it!

My Son has been attending lessons for a few months and is currently a yellow belt. His focus, discipline and confidence have markedly improved with karate. We have noticed these changes in areas such as school, home and friendships. Master & Mrs. Water, Master Quintana truly make a difference with their students for life lessons.

I registered my then 6 year old son for classes at Charles Water Karate and Fitness almost 4 years ago because I wanted him to learn karate as an outlet for his energy and for self-defense purposes. I was so impressed by the owner Master Water, head instructor Master Quintano and the wonderful staff that I ended up joining as well. Charles Water is so much more than just a karate studio. Yes, you learn all the karate strikes, sparring techniques and impressive looking combinations and moves from one of the top teachers in the country and his staff. More importantly, though, you learn karate as part of a life mindset, referred to as the black belt mindset, which incorporates respect, confidence, discipline, focus and awareness into every thing you do - both in and out of the studio.Master Water and his staff make you feel special, because they believe you are special. You can’t fake that. They truly care about their students and and take personal interest in the progress and development of each and every one.Charles Water fosters a family atmosphere where you can enjoy the camaraderie of many other students - your karate brothers and sisters - yet still feel like the instruction and life advice is individualized and that the staff is talking just to you. The business model and program objective are summarized on the back wall of the studio: “We Prepare You For Life”. I still look forward to coming to each class and leaving, in the words of Master Ross, “exhausted sweaty and smiling”. I am 65 years old and I can say without hesitation that the decision I made to have my son and I become members of the Charles Water family is one of the best decisions of my life.

I cried at the first demo I saw at Charles Water Karate because everything that they talked about- confidence, focus, eye contact, discipline, total-body workout- was all of the things I was looking to develop in my son! They have proven to be a thoughtful, firm and loving studio that is developing these qualities in my son slowly, but surely. I believe in what they are doing and thank them for helping us parents raise our children to be independent, responsible, disciplined good citizens. Thank you!

I have watched hours of practice in this place, never a student. If you're looking for exercise with a series of martial art style movement, this may satisfy you. But in the other hand, Charles Water karate is the typical "What would happen if we take a classic martial art and attempt to teach it to the masses in America?" story. It starts with a martial art. Then a student congress along and studies long enough that the student fires off on their own to teach. At one time the student may have been pretty good but now their school only serves to afford their personal hobbies while they put 0% effort into teaching.I've seen them give out black belts to 9 year old kids who have been there since they were 7. I've seen 19 year olds receive GoDan.Take this review for what it is. If you are serious about learning a martial art, there are plenty of places. This is one place that is not serious about the art, just the business.

We had our child join the studio a few months ago. We could not be happier with the experience. The instructors are kind, considerate, and compassionate. Their ability to redirect the children is something to be reckoned with and something I haven’t experienced before. I’m so glad this studio has been here for 35 years and I hope it stays for 35 more. Thank you!
