We drove to the entrance to White Face Mountain, and did a U-turn after seeing the entrance price. $20 for driver and car, and an additional $20 per passenger. Too rich for my vacation.

The Whiteface Visitors Bureau is conveniently located in Wilmington, New York. As many visitors many not get a strong cellular signal in this area, it is a good idea to stop by to review the literature of the area. Otherwise, you may miss out on experiencing some of what the area has to offer. The parking lot is located on the right side of the building. There is a gazebo that allows you to relax and view the West Branch of the Ausable River. There is a short trail that leads to the water. Look for the blue heron. People may be seen fishing on the other side. Brochures of the area are located outside and inside of the building. This is a very nice stop.

from messenger. How nice, a response from June 22nd. I called and they said the same thing, highway open gift shop closed. SO I DROVE THERE FROM SYRACUSE JUST TO FIND OUT THE SUMMIT IS CLOSED!!! You might want to mention to others that the reason for going there is CLOSED.

The view is really nice from the top and the rocky ridge line trail with iron railings you have to climb to get to the top is pretty cool. Just FYI you need to purchase a pass for the vehicle and each person in it to get past a toll that Barr's you from going to the top I think it's $10 a vehicle and maybe $8 a person (drivers free) but I'm not sure so I would double check if you really care about exact prices.
