I attended the week-long Mediation for Peace program and feel like I experienced not just a full reset but an upgrade. I enjoyed every bit of my time there, though it took a couple of days to drop into the flow of the Ashram. The staff and teachers are all welcoming and knowledgeable. I met wonderful people amongst the various guests. The food was delicious and more than enough--yes, even though there were only 2 meals. I honestly feel that I've found practices that will sustain and nourish me for the rest of my life. The visit was so transformative that I'm returning with my partner in August for another week long program in August.

Beautiful ashram run by kind, lovely people. Perfect setting to reconnect with your spirituality and yoga practice. Lots of time to explore the woods, hang out in the sauna and tend to their gorgeous garden (shout out to Sita Ram and Caitlin!). Fresh and delicious vegetarian meals to nourish you throughout. I went for the residential program (minimum two-week stay) which they're offering now until Spring 2021. This place is a gem and I couldn't recommend it more!

I've been coming to the ranch for over 10 years regularly and every time the staff are so accommodating the yoga is fantastic and the food even better.... always 98% vegan.... plus we are so happy that they have apartments for couples.... There is always something interesting happening and if not just walking in the 80 acres of woods is so beautiful..... and did i mentiont the wood burning sauna???? I highly recommend taking time to be here.... And now I am very happy that because of the pandemic they are offering yoga classes online.... It feels good to "be there."

With so many allegations of sexual and emotional abuse against the founder and current staff members, and, as we are learning, that the Executive Board has known for years and covered up rather than holding abusers accountable, I cannot recommend anyone go to Sivananda. I speak as a former Sivananda teacher, and as someone who spent much time in their centers and ashrams for nearly 25 years. What we have learned over the last two months, about rapes, child molestation, sexual assault, and emotional and labor abuse may be only the tip of the iceberg.

Spent a transportive day and night at the Yoga Ranch with my husband and 14 year old daughter. It was like a portal to another world. We arrived exactly as brunch was being served, and within minutes we were being ushered into a circle of hand-holding, chanting practitioners saying blessings over the food. My daughter looked like she might run for the hills, but we opened our minds and found a truly meditative and even enlightening environment tucked away in a quiet corner of the Catskills. For the uninitiated, some tips: --we brought some healthy snacks, like fruit and nuts, and they were very welcome in between the two meals served --beware: after about 8 minutes, sitting crosslegged on the floor with a cushion under your behind becomes its own special form of torture; consider a seat on the bench along the wall, or prepare for your mind, body and spirit to be consumed by the pain you are in --while many different and delicious varieties of tea are served throughout the day, there is no coffee provided; if you need your morning caffeine to prevent a headache, best to bring instant and a mug - there is a hot water pot provided in the room --don't pack anything other than your most comfortable sweatpants, yoga pants, cozy socks, etc. - even jeans look out of place here --prepare to feel a little self-conscious as you try something new, and to be rewarded for it!

A sanctuary of healing and spiritual growth!! The perfect place to get away breathe in the fresh Catskill mountain air and recharge in a peaceful, clean, natural environment. I came here after the death of my mother when I was broken and consumed with grief, darkness and sadness. The warmth, love, and kindness of the Karma Yogi staff along with the meditation, chanting, and yoga opened my heart and allowed the light back in. The Well-Being Center staff was absolutely wonderful. The treatments literally reconnected me to my body. Thank you so much Ishvari, Krishna Pria, Parameshwara, and Maheshwari for your skill, patience, and love. I will be forever grateful. There is delicious organic vegetarian/vegan food freshly made for every meal. The ashram has its own garden and greenhouse and is lovingly overseen by Sitaram Chaitanya. The grounds are beautiful with gorgeous flower gardens tended by Ambika and gentle hiking trails surround the property. The Ashram offers two Sivananda yoga classes and a variety of interesting workshops. The wood burning Russian sauna is very popular. (pack a bathing suit) The beautiful Satsangs start with meditation and chanting, usually followed a teaching. If you are fortunate to have Satsang with Swami Paramananda or Srinivasan, you will be inspired by their knowledge, devotion, and humor. This experience enabled me to return home and deal with the aftermath of my mother’s death in a clearer and saner manner. It is truly a spiritually charged haven.

I went by myself to visit this place for the first time. I thought that taking public transportation would be difficult. It was easy from New York city to the center. Riding the bus was comfortable and switching to the second bus was also a nice experience.Being there with nature was a relaxing time to disconnect from every body and from everything. It was a wonderful trip. I stayed a few days. The service was excellent and the food was exotic. I enjoyed all activities in the center. I felt safe being in this environment alone.

Needed a yoga retreat and this is where I went. They have an all day schedule from 6am Satsang (meditation) to their morning yoga class, lunch, break, karma yoga, yoga class, dinner, another Satsang chant, and on their website they have different events going on. The instructors were very attentive and so professional and passionate. I really enjoyed the class. This is an ashram, which was beautiful to experience. They had a night chanting class, which I enjoyed as a musician. The lady taught me how to pronounce Sanskrit words while she sang and played the harmonium. They have a lovely library with a nice selection of books. I slept in a dorm by myself in February. They also had a sauna that I tried out. I went during the winter so it was nice to have a hot space to relax and also met people from overseas too! The nature is beautiful and peaceful.
