Best pupusas in New York City. Everything they serve is home made and following authentic recipes from El Salvador. The pickled cabbage that comes with the pupusas is so delicious. The couple that owns this restaurant also prepare Mexican food and drinks. Tamarind and horchata drinks make me remember with warmth the food of my childhood in Santa Ana. I highly recommend Ricas Pupusas to anyone that wants to enjoy traditional food from El Salvador.

My favorite Pupusas place and I have looked for many Salvadoran restaurant places but I never liked them. 4 years ago I moved to Sunnyside and this place is a hidden treasure with the best delicious pupusas.

There are few things I love more in this world than a sweet corn tamale with sour cream, following closely behind that is my love for pupusas and boy did this place deliver. I ordered online and picked up, the space was sweet and friendly and woman at the counter was SO NICE and to top it all off my food was ready early. I got two vegetarian pupusas (customizable!) and a tamale and of course could not say no to some tres leches which- while everything was fantastic- was SO fantastic it deserves a special shout-out. My only complaint is everything was so great I don't have any left over. Pupusa paradise. 1000/10.Vegetarian options: There's plenty and all of them are perfect

The papusas are so unbelievably good. Absolute fire. 10/10 would come back for the papusas. I had to order more after getting my first because they are that good. Will definitely be back.

The pupusas were great, super fresh. They're making/ stuffing them from scratch as you order so expect a little wait. Worth every minute though. I had been missing good pupusas when I moved to NY, happy to have found this spot. Support local businesses!!!

Over price, food appears more like shrink flatiion prices, I went there thinking they only sell Central American food but it's a mixture of Salvadoran / Mex.They had a board with the posted price only to find out that it was not the actual price and not consistent with their menu pamphlet price.Example: I ordered a Burrito posted price $10.50 Pamphlet: price $9 what they charge me $11.99I order 3 popusas price $3.99 each pamphlet price $3I order a Tamal chicken $3.99 on the posted board Pamphlet $3 by the way very small enough for a little person.A Orchata was $7.99 over total came out to $37 then when I reviewed my receipt it went down to $34.50 then I opt out of the orchata and got me. Can of soda. The total take out order was $30.50I been to Salvadoran restaurant the puposas they have are average size but they were good specifically with the sauce. The tamal well at that price I sent them much larger very small for a Tamal and it fell apart when I opened it...nothing to see and it was ok. The burrito was average size over price but it was good according to my guess I didn't bother to even taste it cause I already had a bitter taste from the over price item and the shrinkflation items.????The place looks very cozy but make sure you check the price and make sure you keep track of what you order, and it did take more then 20 minutes to finally receive my take out order.I was very disappointed with the experience since I haven't been in the neighborhood in several years. The girl at the counter was very nice, she did address my concerns but since I was in a rush I didn't entertain the details.? I will follow up again and keep you posted and remember the posted price is not the right price so be aware.?
