Buyer beware. Inaccurate designs. Unprofessional, unethical behavior. Chronic delays. Impolite and uncollaborative. Avoid at all costs.I don't like posting negative reviews, but I hope this information will spare the next person the cost and frustration we endured working with Mari Mulshenock from EvolveD. We went into contract at the beginning of 2022. Mari insisted on full payment upfront rather than the industry standard of a first 50% (one of several red flags we should have heeded.) From that moment on, working with Mari was an absolute nightmare. We paid her $7000 to draft new plans for 2 levels of home renovation. It took her 6 MONTHS to complete the project which consisted of a first design draft and two revisions; something that should have taken 2 months at best. Many of our emails went unanswered and our follow ups were answered with flimsy excuses or rude replies. Our requests for firm delivery dates were ignored. On our two revision calls, when we looked to her for collaborative input, she seemed annoyed and acted as if questions were stupid. When we moved on to bidding materials, we noticed in the bid that many items were marked up in price on top of the retail price (for basic items like faucets you can find at Home Depot). All designers get a 20% discount on retail. So Mari was double-dipping. I find that to be unethical. Now that we are working with a contractor and a new designer, we are finding that many of the measurements in her designs were inaccurate. It's absolutely infuriating.I want to note that I have worked in a creative services business for over 15 years. Both my brother and several good friends are architects and designers. So I understand the best practices in design business. If I behaved the way Mari did, I would lose all of my clients. Because of her delays, supply costs increased and we lost an entire summer when we could have been enjoying our house. The one positive in all of this experience was the help we received from the junior designer at EvolveD, Hannah Shafer. Hannah was a delight to work and communicate with, but by the time she stepped in we were so disgusted by Mari's behavior that we couldn't justify spending another dollar with EvolveD.Services: Living room design

Short and to the point. A referred contractor forward me here for building plans. Spoke with designer and set up to meet in a month at my cabin (5 hrs away) a month in advance. No show day of 1st meet. We chalked it up to mutual miscommunication. Set up another appointment at the house a month in advance once again. I called a week before to confirm appointment. During that conversation, it was discussed that the original contractor might not travel that distance. That was different than my original discussion with them, but ok, I still needed to have plans done anyway. One week later, "no show again." I called the office to ask if we were still on and the person who answered the phone said "I'll call the individual and get right back to you." 30 minutes later, I had to call, only to find out a message was left yesterday( not true) canceling because of a flooding issue at another job and that the contractor wasn't going to travel out there.(already addressed that circumstance in last phone call). My response: "I know this isn't your fault. Enjoy the boom. Your stomachs will be growling a year from now." This is my true story. Be careful. At least all I had wasted was my time. Might have been a real disaster going forward.
