About Afya Foundation
fya creates access to critical medical supplies where there is none—supplies like sutures, bandages, assorted surgical instruments, and more. Afya navigates the logistical challenges to deliver collected and donated medical and humanitarian supplies to underserved or compromised health systems at home and around the world. We give these critical supplies a second life, diverting them from landfills to wherever they are needed to help save lives.

I can't speak to the details of the work that the organization performs, but I appreciate that they accept a wide variety of medical supplies, that they make the donation process simple, and that they are friendly and accommodating to people dropping off to donate. Recommended if you have something to donate in NYC area!
